Ok so not updated in a while but i have been cracking on with the build none the less. Pretty much everything in the engine bay is finished now, just a few loose ends to sort out like distributor and oil cooler. Next jobs on the list include, fuel system, dash board (gauges and wiring), internal gear linkage and finish fitting the exhaust. Reckon i could have these jobs sorted and the get the engine running by end of april if i'm lucky. So here are some pics of how she is looking as of now:

Thanks guys, really happy with the colour scheme. I'm glad i went for Yukon grey in the end as i almost went for old english white but then realised how many other minis are that colour already. I wanted it to look different to any other mini you see on the road.

I take it that no-one will sit in the back,...ever.... ;D Looks great from here, and that nifty little oil cooler suits the engine. He is going to be a beast. keep at it.

Never again will this mini seat passengers in the rear, unless they are some sort of midget contorsionist and can wrap themselves around the roll cage lol

Thanks for the comment :)

Not updated this in a while now. I have made a lot of progress since the last installment and i will be putting some more pics up later on to prove it. Also, I have had the mini running and driving. I had a few little niggles with the starter motor but apart from that nothing major and it runs very well. I am very suprised how responsive the throttle is and how quickly it accelerates. The first time out i was driving on dirt, blipped the throttle slightly and thought the clutch was slipping! Turned out it was just spinning the wheels!

I did get some footage of the first fire up, although it's a bit shakey.

This was the second attempt after re-adjusting the ignition timing. If you're wondering why i accidentally left it in gear whilst starting, it was so i could get no.1 cylinder at tdc to adjust the distributor...oops.

Took some pics of how it's looking at the moment. Got it out of the building and positioned it in the sun set, it has been a lovely day today!

There's not an aweful lot left to do now. Mains things to purchase are a mk1 grille + moustache, door windows, front plastic inner arches, number plates, harnesses and then the most expensive bit - a tank full of shell V power! Then it's the dreaded insurance and MOT O_O
