Chrome Bullet Door Mirrors Are To Low!

I have a set of the chrome bullet style mirrors for my mini doors, the prob is that when in position they are actually to low, (I cant higher them as they'd be in the glass) I've see fitting kits in Minispares for 1980 onwards doors, but mine is a 74 Clubman, is there some sort of bracket I can fit 1st to angle the base up a bit?
Many thanks for your help & suggestions
David.

those type of bullet mirrors are really just for show I'm afraid.
the slightly better ones are those which have a base that bolts to the door, then the mirror sits on a vertical upstand and the whole bullet body can be turned/twisted to suit.

(It looks obvious but I met someone at IMM who didn't know they were adjustable)

i have the fixed arm and have the same trouble. I think these are actually wing mirrors , not door mirrors which is why they sit sl low (mounted sideways on door instead of upright on wing)

They offer next to no visibility if fitted to doors and are just dangerous. Not designed for doors - if you have bought these - sell them or send them back. Or fit them on the wings where they'e meant to go.

You can see that they have an arm on them - this is to raise them up so that you can see out of them and gives the mirror full adjustability. Very good mirrors, easy to adjust and great for looks. To fit these you'll need the fixing plaque too which is supplied with most aftermarket mirrors made to go on standard door fixings:

Most people buy the Wing mirrors without realising it - and unfortunatley - most sellers list them wrongly - Minispares do not however... they list them correctly - buy from dealers that know what they're doing...

Its better to fit them without any adaptor, just drill a couple of holes in the door to fit the original base.
how is drilling holes in the doors and using bolts better than doing the job properly? - Using the original rivnut mountings and well known 'tex' type mirror plaques. the plaque also has the bonus of lifting the mirror higher up for ease of adjustment - particularly useful on the passenger side.

I have one fitted the original tex base by drilling holes thrugh the door (mainly because original holes where messed at a so called bodyshop..); and have fitted the other one using the adaptor.
I found that adaptor gives very poor fitting, while the other mirror is solid rock mounted.

Does that adaptor kit just enable the mirror to be fitted without drilling further holes or does it change the angle of the mirror?
Thanks

i have noticed..i have a pair of these...and my left hand side one has to be angled to a stupid position for me to see stuff...i twist the lens but it does not adjust like the driver side one does
