Ok, now im just confused.
Is it worth getting 10inch wheels now? Its begining to sound like i wont be able to get tyres for them when i need a new set in the future.
Chris
My thoughts exactly... just after I've spent money on upgrading to 7.5" S setup so I can keep my wheels!
Did you not read the thread? A032s will still be around. You'll just have to buy them for "track use", even though it is not illegal to use them on the road. A008s will be back once they have had some EU stamp on the new ones. Falkens, Avons, Hakkas and Camacs are still available.

and after everything i have heard, the 032's and the 008's are the only tyres that work in the wet and in the dry.
So thats why i said that.

People assume they are slick or race tyres, they're not. They're just a very soft compound, hence them having so much grip.
The problem is because they're a soft compound, they wear down very quickly. I got through a pair of front tyres in less then 4,000 miles. Not good when it's a daily driver. That's why I switched to Falkens to sell the Mini.

A032s are very good in the wet, because they use the Aquatusk tread pattern to cut through water.

I know the 032's are wet tyres, its just the fact they dont last long which is putting me off them.

Well fortunately that's rubbish so don't let it put you off. People do talk a lot of garbage.
I can't imagine the a032r not passing the test, it's the quietest 10" tyre I've ever had fitted.

I believe A032R come in 2 grades, soft and hard, which may be causing some confusion. You generally get given the hard from tyre people, race suppliers tend to keep the soft ones. PS the "hard" version is still pretty soft
Unfortunately this is more of the mythology commonly touted regarding this tyre. The A032R is made in soft and supersoft compounds in some sizes but in the 10" size it is only made in a soft compound. Hence the big S stamped on the sidewall, nobody is able to sell you the wrong compound in whatever size because it's stamped in the side. Before anyone says it they aren't cut slicks either.
