Hi All

Whats going to be the best manifold to get to get the car to pop and bang??!! :cheese:
Is it a 3-1 or still the maniflow stage 2 lcb?? Also, is it best to remove the box above the back box i have on the car at the moment?

Fit a turbo with anti lag :cheese:

You would have to change to a realy hot cam but even then it would be on over run and pop rather than bang, you only get a bang with the turbo anti lag but then, that is not leagal on the road. I don't think the manifold alone would give what you want. The injection minis tend to burble on over run, this is due to the ECU cutting fuel.

It should only pop and bang on over run in andy case, more so on the turbo anti lag. If it pops and bangs any other time there is something more serious to be looking at :nugget:

Is it the "touring car" sound that you're going for? I'd be interested in that too!!

I'm not exactly sure what you're after... but I would strongly advise against using a 3 into 1 on the road, noise levels will attract the attention of various people in blue uniforms...

Cutting of the exhaust would sound like you had cut the exhaust off :) I.E. total garbage like the average Astra GTE when its exhaust dropped off because the chav had stiffened and lowered it that much as he drove over crack in the road and now thinks he's the next Colin McRea. ;)

Besides its the law to have a silencer of some description that reduces noise levels below the legal limit :cheese:

A single box silencer and the odd pop and bang sounds much better but difficult to achieve in a correctly tuned motor.

Like I said if you realy realy want it fit a turbo and an anti lag system.

Come to think about it, it may be possible to fit an anti lag system to an engine without a turbo. Then you would have an engine that banged and you could switch it on and off. Be prepaired to replace the manifold lots :)

Thanks for all the replies. Its just that i read on another topic i started the other day that someone fitted a 3-1 and it was always popping but wasnt sure if they meant the 3-1 or the stage two maniflow? On the set up i have now it really goes mental when i put optimax in!!

So how noisy is a 3-1??? Ive got two boxes on my system. The back box and about 1ft up from that another box???

Bristolminimad knows something about popandbang judging by his exhaust on the ring run. We thought there was a sniper about :)
