Hi
I am wondering, what is the best or recommended seam sealer, which when applied, can penetrate the seams without a gooey mess on the outside? One of the things I need to do is seam seal the door step/sill flanges, and I need good sealant penetration here without lots of mess on the outside.

I have coated the bare metal areas first with U-POL Self etch primer, and then want to seal on top of the etched joints.

I already have some seam sealer (U-POL red strip). Is this any good, or should I change it? Also, is is recommended to use seam sealer in tube or brush on form?

I was wondering if Pinkgrip would work. Because im a cheapskate, i'll try it tomorrow and see it i can paint over it.

Features:
- for internal use
- overpaintable when cured
- food safe
- gap filling
- quick drying / curing
- solvent based

 Sorted

Hi, if you also mask up the edges of the seam that needs sealing with some thick masking tape,.. you can apply it nice and thick so that you get a good seal and can spread it smooth with your finger without getting any messy edges.

once removed (straight after you've applied the sealer and smoothed it down) you'll have a nice neat finish.

Make sure it's completely cured before shooting the primer over it or the edges will lift.

tiger seal in a tube

best i have found

Hi. I have just received my Tiger seal in the post, and I notice that they are sealed in a metal tube. Can i use this in an adhesive gun (same one you use for bathroom sealants etc). i know it sounds like a silly question, but i notice the end of the tiger tubes are just flat metal, and i cannot see any plunger. Is this some kind of seal on the end that needs to be broken??

Cheers

Hi Kirk
I mean on the bottom end, it looks like its just covered over. Also, when i shake it, it seems to have sand in there!
