when i make a proect of my mini (a blue 1989 mayfair called dolly (: ) i think im going to debumper it, and was looking at a smoothed out boot lid. but then i couldnt work out were the best place to put the number plate etc would be. so if anybody could enlighten me on this would be very helpful? i wasnt sure if it can ust go on the same place just without the indent of the normal boot lid, sorry if this is a totaly noob question with a obviouse answer! also is there any way of attaching the boot lid with out the normal handle, e.g with the pins a removable bonnet has, does this work at all?
thanks ben

I have thought about doing a smoothed boot lid, looks awsome. You can buy fiberglass ones dead cheap, or carbon fibre for (quite alot) more
No.plate looks awsome mounted on the right hand side below the bumper, know idea if its legal, but dont see why not.
i like it completely smoothed so no handles or hinges, and if you are going to de bumper it then i would do internal hinges and boot release, (much like a internal bonnet release) Will be hard, but could do a electrically operated one or cables, personally would do cables. But i have been tempted by this.

Is this yours? and how have you done the boot release?
p.s. I still think the plate should be on the right hand side

looks the dogs danglies
the handle is the normal boot latch but the handle is fitted back to front and has been bashed with a hammer so the handle wont pull out
its a good option as my cars had chavtastic speaker holes cut in the past

the right, Good boy
smoothed boot lids look soo good with sports pack arches.
i have to say, i would still go for a cable operated jobby.
But i have a new plan!! you know the hydrolic lifters on modern boots? some one those mounted upsidedown? so pull a leaver up front, and boot opens slowley? cant say thats not coool
(despite being a tad 'pimp my ride')

thats does sound pritty cool haha, as i read it all i could imagine is this boots opening slowly and smoke coming out haha maybe some lazers or flashy LEDs
you should defo do that, bit much for me tho!
was thinking a smooth lid with just a chrome handle would look cool? or would this defeat the obect of the smooth boot lid?! maybe with some clear lenses and de bumperd? oooo exciting stuff cant wait to do it up properly.
