Well the project mini has been put on hold until after the Ring so that definitely wont be back together.

I didnt want to take my red mini this year, but it looks like I will have to. Its going in for a new clutch and welding to be done mid-August, and hopefully a new carpet and general tidy up. I would give it a go (well, the clutch anyway) but I just dont have the time. It might be a little cosmetically worse for wear though which sucks.

I might be going down again before then, so I might strategically place another faster car down there to do the laps. I can get a 5 series BMW for 300 euros, but it needs a new front shock. How hard can it be?

I cant wait to go. I've just started seeing a girl who finds it highly amusing that a group of people from an internet site were going camping together for a week to drive around a big loop that you have to pay 20 euros for. Some people will never understand. I did say she was more than welcome to come but she politely declined.

Ha! Will be good to see you.

Well at the moment I have, half an engine, a stripped 'box, half of the front subframe built, and a shell that needs a front end, a tad of welding and painting :(
It looks like I'm dropping the subframes and engine in to my daily driver if I don't have a good shell in the next 2 weeks!

Ow! I've just worked out how much work I have to do, how much time I have AND how much I still have to spend!

Gonna be a push, but I reckon I can do it, JUST!

Disclaimer: though the FReaK will be working, it may look a little unfinished! :)

I actually haven't got as much to do to the Cerb as I've had with other cars in the past 2-3 years, but I'm still bricking it! :)

Mine is still up on axle stands in the garage with the engine almost out ready to be converted to hydraulic clutch! Really can't be arsed with it at the moment though, I'm hoping the pressure will help get me motivated! If not then I'll be coming to the 'Ring in my new car (Corrado VR6).

Axle stands? They're for the weak-minded. What you want is well seasoned willow logs! :) :ermm: >_<

Update, I have a frame fitted! Gonna be tight, but looking more likely now, much more likely.

One thing I hadn't thought about, is changing the engine number on the log book. How long does that take? :ermm:

I'm getting to the point where i can do the car, or at least i can finish it in time. However im yet to insure (deposit big) tax and mot it. Also i get paid monthly and the payday i just had is the last until we go. Because i've not had money aside for the trip im taking it from the wages i get 6 days before we leave :S

Heres a pic to show the progress, and to wet the appetite >_<

The DVLA are clamping down on this a bit now. You can no longer just send them the new engine no. They require things such as a reciept for the purchase of the engine, I can try and dig out the info if you need it? My dads took a few weeks after he sent it of so I'd get to it ASAP!

OH dammit!

That's gonna be fun then. Will phone them tomorrow, but I will at least have a receipt for the engine work (which would in theory make the old engine number invalid anyway).
