I just can't see this being totally true some how , really need more evidence.

this is going to be a real downer on people who plan on changing engines in the future then or who are currently doing up projects with bigger engines.

As from 2012, which means andy must be a one off, cause wouldn't some of the minis at mini shows be taken note of?

i think it means new cars from 2012, ive also goggled for this, but ill be happy when i see it on direct.gov.uk or dvla site, or even the news.

Ive read about the IVA before it came into use, I cant see how it will mean modified cars will need an IVA.

I cant find no vosa reference that says this. IVA is basically a new SVA for cars which require one eg. kit cars.

Agree with above, from 2012, thats like cars after 2001 must display a newer number plate, or they must pay tax by the emissions,

i dont see us havin to have diffrent rates of tax because of emissions...

Thats just one part mate.. That means as from 2012 ANY new car will never be allowed a modification without significant testing.. Yup even a spoiler.

As for NOW:

As from april this year any vehicle brought to dvla's attention (i.e a plate trasnfer) thats significantly modded will be subject to an IVA (SVA NO LONGER EXISTS)

As from 2012 no "new" car will be allowed modifications

If you car is deemed by DVLA to be significantly modded then you will have your V5 taken away untill you have an IVA etc etc etc

Should have really posted this up first as people are getting confused... Sorry about that.
