Not knowing what your car is, maybe its due to the car not retaining its original identity in terms of having enough original parts. This meaning it is in effect a new car so was not manufactured prior to 1991?

I am only speculating though.

Its got lots of original parts and I would say around 80% or more of the original (or al least what was on my starting vehicle) remain.
I have jus added to and modified parts to suit.

Funny that, because I spoke to VOSA today too, who told me what I have already reported. Maybe you should try this phone number then - 01792 454 256.

According to VOSA today, there IS gonna be that button.

Craig, Sorry if have have misread the post you put on pg 10 (I have re read it about 4 times) all it states it that any car under 10 years old, from date on manufacture, imported into the uk will be subject to the IVA. It doesn't mention anything about modifications.

The reply to Craig (thanks to him for making the enquiry) seems clear enough.

The new regs will only apply to vehicles that haven't yet been registered (haven't got a V5) - No Mini that anyone owns.

They may apply if the vehicle is registered but shouldn't be - that could be the case if it's considered a new build because not enough of the original, registered, vehicle is left.

You can still build your own car if it's for your own use. Z cars, for example, could do the building for you but they can't sell you a completed car off the shelf.

As it says in the IVA brochure, not much has changed really.

Sorry this is not the case at all.

Any "significant" mods will at some point need an IVA. the unregsitered part is another section we are not concerned with.. ALTHOUGH if you dont declare mods and you get busted at MOT time you will prob have to have a FULL IVA rather than a B IVA .

Please read it all again or contact the number

if you mod your car i.e a z cars kit you and you build it yourself you WILL have to have the car inspected. (B IVA)

Nothing in the IVA documentation states that you will get "busted" for modifications at an MOT.
VOSA themselves state that declaring a car as modified or not is not going to be an option on the MOT also.
As said before, there are no special notices about the introduction of this either.

Wheres the evidence to support that? You keep making the points about IVA's but wheres the evidence to show that part of your claim.
You stated that MOTs from 2012 would have the modification ticky box to report the car, but theres no documentation for this? No special Notice? Nothing said at MOT seminars? And ringing vosa say its not a planned change to the mot procedure and system?

The IVA is a test. That is what you must go through once you have been "busted". Which by the way, if you havent read the other parts, a Mini WILL fail.

Jordie, instead of making your big statements and demands for evidence - as you have done throughout this whole thread - if you really want answers to your questions, which i have already tried to reply to - then I suggest you CALL THE PHONE NUMBER GIVEN.

This should clear up any of your MOT-related questions about a 'button' or not.

I have already stated that I am waiting for further answers to questions. I don't have all the answers, but am happy to try and find them for you - until the tone becomes more aggressive - but this takes time for correspondence.

Thanks for your patience.

Why would ringing that number, give me a different answer to contacting VOSA direct as i did today. Surely if this was correct, it would be information known VOSA wide episcally in the testing side of things.

A normal CLASS IV mot test - according to VOSA today, now and the future including 2012 as no planned changes to include a button to state weather the vehicle presented for test is modified or not.
