Good to see some progress, paintwork is looking good, you got a target for getting it finished?

No real target to be honest. As soon as this paint bit is done the rest wont take long at all. The rear subby is ready to bolt on and is fully built up, its mainly front brakes and the interior to sort.

Bit dusty in here!!. Just looked at the first post. Bloody hell, didn't think we had it that long lmao!!.

Time to get this car back on track!

Been down the garage today and managed to 90% flat the paintwork down to 2500 grit. Not the most exciting job in the world, so dad came down to help and we pretty much cracked into it. Job for tomorrow (along with a lot of other non minus stuff) is to G3 it and get it looking half reasonable  .

It's actually come up pretty good on the corner i tried, considering well everything!. Roughly roughly time estimate, but I'd like to get this don for MITP. Considering I have most of a car sitting in the shed here, parts is no a problem, so it's just a "when I CBA" thing now. to be honest though after tomorrow I can start building it up in some evenings :)

Gonna mock up a 10" Weller tomorrow too, just to get an idea on final ride height.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight. Didn't really do much on this today LOL. I did a bit more, but spent so long on the Astra and other stuff I never really found the time to have a decent crack at it. Pics in a bit though.

Could you not have just left the paint as it was and saved some time?

Just call it a "Colour specific texture??" ( Orange peel finish)

Not perfect by any means, but I'm more than happy with it. With a bit more time spent on it it should come up better. I've still got a finer grade of cutting compound to use yet.
