Just messed it up. Must have been water or something in the line as I've got blobs of crap all over the front wings and RQ panel. Got a run on the N/S roof and the finish has still not come up any better after £40 on a new tin of paint.

Super ******* off.

No way I'm gonna be able to do this by myself to be honest. Just isn't working. Ideally need a hand from someone experienced. Spraying seriously isn't cool at all.

Cheers man :D

Not gonna be doing any more on this till I've got an experienced sprayer to give me a hand. I'll stick to brush painting my car. CBA with it anymore.

Are you using a moisture trap? They can be attached in-line between the compressor and gun and will stop any water or oily gunky crap coming through with the paint. Remember that preperation is key and it is worth wetting the floor and surroundings before you start painting as this will help settle loose dust particles in the air. If the finish is not shiny enough try using more thinners in the mix, just be careful not to get trigger happy because the paint will be more runny in this form.

Yup got a moisture trap :D. Also swept the floor and masked everything up. Used about 13% thinners. Mixed it up well, sprays nicely when the pressure is there. Roof looked like it was gonna come out well, then just dried up crap. Tried diff. gun settings / techniques, different amounts of thinners, pressures etc. Spent all week prepping up the car and the room. Sheeted up a bit better than before. Car was prepped 100% spot on, wet & dry'd it, washed down with wet clean rag. Let that dry then went over with panel wipe. Was 100% clean. Gun was clean. Paint was new and mixed in correct measures.

Using devilbiss GTI spray gun, devilbiss air fed mask, dedicated spraying air line, 14.4cfm compressor, plenty of capacity.

Seems what ever i do it doesn't want to know.

Is this cellulose you're spraying?

I thought it had to be mixed like 50/50 with thinners and then even more thinners for the final gloss coat.

If it's 2k you're spraying then ignore me!

EDIT: Read back, ignore me! Really can't understand why you're having no luck. If it's coming out in blobs, is there any chance you're adding to much hardener or something? Or maybe the hardener isn't mixing in properly?

Did you mix the can of paint prior to pouring and mixing with hardener etc? It sounds silly i know but i once made this mistake thinking the paint had obviously been pre-mixed, i didnt realise that matting agent etc sinks when sat still.
