Been Busy Today With The Polisher

i have taken my carburettor apart and started to polish some bits and pieces so here are some of the before and after pictures

first i went over everything with a wire wheel in the drill then i went over everything with 80 grit sand paper then 120, 240, 400 and finally 600 wet and dry then some polish (i think this is available in the uk but probably brasso or something similar would work) and a polishing wheel in the drill on full speed to build up some heat as it was working and hey presto
i started off with the 80 grit paper so that i could clean up the surface and take away anything i didn't want there see the before and after pics below
here i took a file and the 80 grit paper and took away the casting marks off and left it smooth
this is the polish and the polishing wheel i used

that guide is awesome. i was thinking it must have taken ages to do that one part, then right at the end the entire engine bay is shiny! far too much time on his hands
I think I've found out what i'm doing all weekend now too!

Autosol is good stuff! Gets rid of the rusty spots on my bumper nicely and brings the bumper up brill
