But yesterday,
replaced the CV joint, to find it was actually play between the driveshaft and Cv than the actual CV DOH!
fixed my alternator not creating enough voltage for the battery.
took a grinder to the end of my steering column to make the pinch gap bigger.
took out a load of wiring for old spots that was draining the battery.
found some rust, poked it..... then found a hole

edit: infact i found two holes

I had 60 odd items done for £40. It was all bare steel stuff and cleaned at home to save them having to do it.
ooh, sounds cheap enough for me

Apparantly having stuff 're-chromed' is more expensive because its a more involved process ie they have to be stripped of their existing coating before the new one can be put on. Bare steel stuff can be done quite cheaply.

I also noticed the oil level was rather low which leads me onto a question (not worth me starting a topic for),
Are all A series dipsticks the same length? I have a pre A plus 1275 Goldseal, but the dipstick came out of an MG Metro (but could have been from another engine before that!). Just so I know the level is right.
