Bought a load of mini bits, drooled on my visit to machine mart, cleaned up some space for a first venture into the weird and wonderful world of wheel bearings and swivel joints..

:)*parp parp honk* hub nuts eh!?, after jumping up and down on the breaker bar like it was a bouncy castle, given up and left the penetrating oil soaking in overnight.. how about a nice cup of tea, that'll sort me out..

haha i think you hit the nail on the head with your description

I ordered a couple of bits from Smiffys Bits on Sunday and they arrived this morning. I ordered the factory sticker pack for the slam panel and some angled grease nipples for the radius arms.

One boring, bland, unoriginal slam panel
Posted Image

Thirty seconds later we have one factory-finish looking slam panel
Posted Image

While I was in the mood for adding stickers, I put the Unipart sticker I found in my tool box back on the rad
Posted Image

Heres a couple of bits I added over last weekend
1275 badge on the rocker cover
Posted Image

Union Jack badge on the servo reservior
Posted Image

Some sportspack rubber sill trim to finish the edges of the front panel and back valance
Posted Image
Silly me forgot to snap a pic of the rear valance

And finally the money shot

I bought a Leyland ST sticker for the slam panel but haven't took a pic of that yet.

More to come soon

Arsed about trying to get the bolt out of the top engine steady to bulkhead mount

Why are they always stuck?!?! every mini i've owned has presented this problem

luckily the last time i did it i made a tool out of ratchet extensions and a square nut with a bolt welded to it

Finally managed to change all the bushes top and bottom, and fit a new throttle cable as the old one was sticking

So as usual, a job that should of taken half an hour, took 2 hours

This weekend I finally got a chance to fit some the bits ive been buying from Minispares over the summer...

Solid mounts for front subframe

Adjustable lower arms with angled bushes

Heavy duty adjustable tie rods

Was allot of fun although it took a while to work out how to fit the subframe bushes with the engine still in!

Amen to that. I'm going nowhere near the bulkhead mount/bolt on mine until I absolutely have to! :)

Well when you do come around to doing it, make sure you pack it full of copper greases when you do put it back together

I had it oozing out everywhere after i was done :)

nobody had posted on here in a while and just spent ages trying to find it so thought id post

went to P and L minis today to get a new bleed screw for the clutch slave cylinder, ended up splashing out on a full cylinder
fitted that and bled the clutch as ive had to keep filling the fluid up every day since monday
also fixed my lights, as a wire had come off the fuse box and killed right hand dipped lights, and dash lights
which then i wired in the light for my rev counter and cig lighter. (they look really cool ill try and get a pic)
on the subject of rev counter.... the last few days it has been playing up, only showing revs at idle speed and not going past it,
tuns out the screw on the face had vibrated loose and stopped the needle going any further, i think the idle speed was just a coincidence

also painted some headlight surrounds black and fitted eyelid things, (also painted black)

i think they look pretty cool in satin black, tempted to do the rest of the chrome when i have some time and a bit more paint
let me know what you think

Skinned 2 doors, repaired a crossmember, fitted an A-panel and then did some rust repairs. Also removed a rear quater panel.

today i brought out the satin black paint again and rubbed down the chrome bumpers and sprayed them up
i think they look really nice,
my dad hit the big dent in the front bumper out quite a lot, and in black it doesnt catch your eye as much now
pictures to follow but might do bits on the project page
