Picked up the Mini from the bodyshop-I can't belive how well its turned out.

last 2 days - stripped old brakes, fitted new vented 4 pots, fitted minifins, replaced the rad, thermostat, headlamps, fan belt and replaced a few grease nipples with angled ones. And fitted work in around it somehow

fitted halogen headlights, then the passenger sidelight bulb blew straight away, look at that tommorrow, fitted chrome grill and assembled spotlight bar, need to get some more wiring for the spots tho.

also received my dash from custom consoles.

Took it for a drive New engine is fun... But need to get used to the MPH speedo skale (been constantly speeding )

Wheel arch sprayed and fitted. New S/S front bumper fitted. One less dodgy looking bit!
New Door seals fitted. Hopefully the small leak into the driver footwell will begone forthwith..
Timing was out, measured it at 16degs, changed it to hover between 10 and 12degs, certainly better, but not sure how much of an improvement I'll see.. will find out on the drive to IMM tomorrow. If you see me with the bonnet up in a service station, hopefully I'm only fiddling with the mixture
Antenna connected properly so now have radio!
Random carpet thats been loose for ages, glued down and a wee spring clean in the cockpit

Best of all ... caught a rollover ... well it's the little things in life ...

fitted my spots, and received my 3 clock dials XD spent about an hour gorming over the removal of the speedo cable, then another 2 gorming at the spot lamp wiring, then got my act together and wired it all up (the spots that is) and failed, shanty earthing methods and general half ars3d bodgery methinks anyway, got help with that so be sorted tomorrow, also going to fit dash, then if i have time, pack for my holiday (gotta set off at 8am on sat - don't know where anything is, don't really care, lenard needs his extra eyes XD)

Sprayed the Brake Calipers & Drums (the lazy way)

Went abit OTT on the first coat of paint. Hence the drip on the floor

and installed a Fag Lighter




Want to wash it & t-cut it later

Cursed my mini for breaking down last night, stall then missed then backfired spectacularly, then cursed myself after the breakdown came out and found all it was was the LT -ve lead had vibrated loose 30 secs later and I was away. Was well worth the hour wait

Oh and the breakdown guy mentioned this was his 8th mini of the day, because of IMM, even one guy stuck in charnock richard with a primary seal failure, hence no oil, head gasket and a warped head, still turned over apparently too. A Series are nails oh and the other broken mini was from Amsterdam

I've spent hours trying to remove the rear subframe bolts which sheared off. Tried everything to get them off, still no luck!! Not good :/
