It could be a knuckle joint too.
knocking in reverse on full lock is a classic symptom of a worn CV joint. By turret I guess they mean the upper rear shocker mount, or the front subframe mounting to the bulkhead cross member - the big bolt.
Might be worth finding an empty carpark to investigate by driving in a few tight circles. It could also be a rear brake since it'd be going against it's usual direction of rotation, or the exhaust since the engine will also be pushing the other way on its mountings.
