The purple wire is the old wire that connected to the spade connector on the old horn.
This 2nd one is how you would wire it using a seperate switch keeping your exisiting toot toot horn in place.
On both scenerios for the positive on the battery you would use the battery lead connection on the solenoid.
On the fuse box the connection you want is either the White wire, this is ignition fed live before it goes through the fuse box. or the green wire this is ignition fed live after going through the fuse.
lastly the pictures I found through google and modified to show a horn compressor not spotlights, but rest is same

i will try the 2nd diagram as it is very different to the way my instructions show. You have to use the 2nd diagram as it would be illegal to have the musical horns as your audible warning device i.e. Horn LOL
Alan...
and i haven't wired the musical horn up to my existing horn as i have used a small seperate push button.

A bad earth will not be the problem. A bad earth connection will appear as an "open" and will interrupt current flow, not make more current flow.
A bad earth can cause your battery to go flat though as ive had this problem on a few cars especially on minis.
Just to be clear, I was not suggesting bad earths don't cause problems. My point is/was that adding a new horn system isn't going to create a bad earth. A bad earth at the battery will make it difficult to recharge the battery... but it won't drain it.
