Look Smiffy. I don't care who your beef is with. You have no credibility here or elsewhere.

When logic fails you or facts prove you wrong, you just resort to name-calling.

Your NASCAR remarks proved that.

The issue was never about what you do or don't do with your engines.

It was about what others need to do if they want to avoid problems caused by defective guides.

Your "mate" Vegard sure set you straight on the need to recut seats. Or was that point not clear to you? I guess it wasn't clear to you.

If you want to carry on as you are thats fine with me, if in your mind it's not possible to grind valves in and get as perfect seal, after fitting new guides, thats alright as well ! You carry on.
But for anyone else it's perfectly possible with, as I said careful selection of parts and assembly. :genius:

Having a go about the name calling, or for that matter threats with knives, is a bit much coming from you lol

LMFAO at the boy what is with you, is it because I proved you been using the incorrect tap for the crankshaft ?

So in your mind is it not possible to fit guides without re-cutting the seats. Shall we have a poll to see how many people have done this successfully.

Meds that's funny, I've heard about your ranting about smiffy.

Actually I think about it you should lay off the Meds and it's messing with your memory, pic below is of the post you where banned from finity for a month.

Don't you get it Smiffy? You're irrelevant. So is your poll. The experts and Vegard agree with me, not you. So it doesn't matter WHAT you think or say. When are you going to understand that?

As I said about you and your posts, "It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury signifying nothing."

I resigned from the Minifinity board and told them so. They didn't ban me or even discuss it until after I resigned. When they indicated they thought I threatened you with a knife(actually a SAW)....from California no less, I knew I wanted nothing more to do with that forum. Between you, Roy and Noodles for brains, it was a waste of time anyway. I insulted them in my resignation letter, so they banned me after my note. But they won't tell you the truth about that, will they?

As for meds, I've been told why you rant and rave on these forums. You cannot work, so you spend all of your time on forums insulting others who do.
You're certifiably nuts and your posts prove it.

I don't use the wrong tap. The tap I use works beautifully for what I need it to do....clean out Loctite and other crud from the threads. Unlike you, I don't need a tap to repair crank threads I have damaged because, unlike you, I don't damage crank threads. I also don't need a tap to cut threads into a crank....like you must. I paid about 20 quid for my tap, much less than your thread claimed you guys were going to pay, even with a group discount. So keep patting yourself on the back, Smiffy. It's an empty victory, except for one with the brain of a child. That's your life, isn't it Smiffy? Lots of meaningless victories which when summed mean nothing. You are very childish for all to observe.
How pitiful. You're wrong as often as you're right, as you proved with your NASCAR rubbish and your struggle to sort a radiator that took years !

So go ahead and take your fool poll about the guides. Just don't bother to poll any of the A-series experts or your "mate" Vegard. You already know how they will vote.

Just to restate some facts, which I know are beyond your infantile mind's capacity. I never said "is it not possible to fit guides without re-cutting the seats.". I merely said that it is unwise to do so. Two very different things that any healthy adult mind can comprehend. But not old Smiffy. He thinks like a 10 year-old, so he thinks they are both the same thing. You're like a broken down old boxer. You make a ridiculous statement, the experts beat you down, and you keep rising from the canvas, only to get beaten down again. That old head of your must be pretty sore from all of the pounding, eh? Not thinking too clearly, eh? Well, just rant and rave all you want. As long as the experts agree with me, your opinions mean nothing. Nothing at all. :P

I apologize to madaboutcherry. I think we've done more than enough to ruin this thread and poison the air. Regardless of what is posted, I shall post no more on this thread.

i have been reading this thread and i feel a bit sorry for the person that started this thread trying to get the info that he needed to finish the job

i my self have asked the same question on here but luckily enough i got some help not and not a world war when the guides are fitted you will need to grind the seats make sure that you get a good seal obviously you can just whack it all together and hope for the best but as the person who started this thread like myself stated he has stripped the engine and wants to make a good job of what he is doing and do it properly that's why he started this thread

i decided to get another head because i looked in to the price of doing this job here in Sweden and it was loads more expensive than to get a later head and bolting it on and avoiding the cost of grinding and replacing the seats for unleaded

here is the document that i was sent stating the measurements and the fact that the valve giudes should be ground this is an orignal workshop document that main dealers got

i got it from guessworks i believe when i posted my thread on the same subject here is my thread

Attached File  valve_guide.pdf   292.66K   56 downloads

hope this helps

What was that about name calling earlier :-
So now we have yet more lies, to add to the list. Resigned my arse, but Im glad to see you haven't wasted your eduction and can still write like a journalist. Whoops no it wasn't journalism was it, a degree in business studies iirc.

Now that you guys have got that all out of your systems, lets get back to the topic in hand?

I don't want to hear any more on TMF about what happened on 'finity. It's obviously something that you guys are involved with and that's fine, so if you have any issue with each other, please keep it over there or over PM.

Any more off-topic posts and they will be immediately deleted.

Now... back to the original Valve Guides question.
