................Comma CV & Lith-Moly Grease 500G is a popular car maintenance grease that is designed to be used on Constant Velocity Joints & for multipurpose greasing.

That will be the "stuff" then!!! a combination of the two below???

Castrol LM Grease
Lithium based, high melting point grease, specifically designed as a wheel bearing grease for use over a wide range of temperatures. Also suitable for general purpose applications

Castrol Moly Grease
High melting point, lithium based grease containing molybdenum, providing dry lubrication under extreme operating conditions.
Ideally suited for the following applications; King pins and bushes, shackles and suspension trunnions, bevel worm and peg steering boxes

Lithium grease is fine for things like radius arms, top arms door latch mechanisms and hinges. I've always used it as more of a general purpose grease.

Moly is much better for things like Pot joints + Wheel bearings, I'd never use Lithium on those parts.

Its interesting that what you are suggesting Retro is pretty much the opposite of the Castrol tech data posted in in Nicksluths message further up ??

Not having a dig, just an observation

Ah hang on - I've just re-read the thread and will make it clearer what i use.....

I use the General purpose Lithium Grease on things like Radius arms etc - on my tub it doesn't say lithium moly which what you're talking about- just 'Lithium based general purpose grease'. (this is the yellow stuff)

And then on CV boots, and wheel bearings I've always used the Black stuff - which is what i call Moly grease.

No where on my Yellow Gen purpose grease does it claim to be good with 'High temperatures' etc like the Black Moly grease does.

The other thing to pick-up on here is that Nick is talking abot Castrol products - so I waltzed in with some useless info about A different brand... so ignore me :dontgetit:

I just squirt Castrol LM in everything

Like it says its suitable for bearings and general purpose applications so seems to cover most things.
