Just looked - Ours is on a rectangular plate - I can't tell if yours is or not?

From what I can find online, it does seem to be the body number - Most people refer to it being on a standard rectangle plate, to the right of the slam panel.

See Here for one example:

http://www.theminifo...x...t&p=1352387

The body number isn't actually of much use to anyone, really! It doesn't relate to the engine number or the VIN Number! :o

My van's got an FE number plate welded onto the inner wing - I have absolutely no idea what this is or what it relates to! :)

Yup its just a body number, something the factory kept a record of. I don't think it was of any use and I think later on they stopped noting them down?

Thanks once again.

I think I will clean it up and refit it especially as the new front panel has 2 rivet holes drilled where would fit.

Cheers

I think I would too, it's always nice to see those little original bits and bobs on the car! :)

Hi Folks, just another brief episode to bring me up to date (well, almost)!

After getting the seam strips on at last, I could crack on with fitting the arches.

Rubbed them down to get a key and then used some plastic adhesion promoter before giving them a few coats of high build primer.

On the Sunday, it was so hot that I had to keep the arches in the shade prior to paint because they were getting so hot.

Few coats of black after flatting the primer and then left them to bake.

And then on with the fitting. Fairly straight forward as they had been trial fitted a couple of times before.

They seem far too wide but I think some of it is because the suspension is so high. It has only dropped about 6mm so far. I'm sure that will improve as more weight goes in.

Also managed to get the front indicators fitted and test the effect of the "running / side lights"

I did say it wasn't quite Audi A4 but I'm pleased with the effect.

Should have a bit of another update by the end of the bank holiday but on decorating duties at the moment. (Not too bothered today as it's rained all day but forecast is good for Sunday)

Thanks for looking

Steve

Looking Great! The sidelights look great, a retrofit item that looks great in the original lamp, unlike some of the aftermarket running light kits you can get where the Led's are just in a line, rather boring and dont go with the rest of the car

Keep up with the good work, I bet you can wait to drive it now

Hi Steve! Nice choice on the arches!!

Think they might be a little over-arched for the wheel width (Are they 5's?) - Just my opinion from what I can see on the photos - Could be wrong though and when there's some weight on the suspension, it could look different.

Have you got a set of spacers & spacer-ed (?) drums - Might help the offset a little?

Sorry - I hope you don't think I'm picking or anything - I don't mean for it to be rude!

I think this car's wonderful and the black arches look great with the blue!!

What i dont understand is the need to quote entire massive strings of pictures, causing this page to load EXTREMELY slowly.

Anyway, i LOVE this mini, its coming on really well, well done :D.
