Went to Himley today and had a good look around for yet more ideas and insperation. (also bought a few bits........As you do!!)
My delivery from Chris at Retro was a headlining (for those who hadn't figured it out already). Along with some sunvisors.
Looking back, I really can't remember why I didn't keep the original.

The piece of roof frame with bracket I got off a member on here was trimmed & fitted.
Anyone spot the deliberate mistake?

Also went a bit OTT with some Dinitrol a friend gave to me.

That's if you can go OTT with rustproofing on a mini.
Basics of the headlining in. Top tip pinched from the TMF's very own Mr Bungle. (Thanks Bungle)

Bit of a family outing on this one with everyone helping.
Not exactly perfect, but more than good enough

Now ready for glass in & doors back on.
Starting to look like a car again... Don't you just love bolting bits back on?
That's all for today, said it was brief. More soon.
Thanks for dropping by
Regards
Steve

Another fairly brief update to let you know where I'm at.
Thanks for the comments prior to the last post and apologies for not acknowledging them previously.
Bean: Not sure if I will get it far enough for the summer shows but who knows?
Carlien: Your car looks very nice. Re the interior? Think we may be going Mini or Metro seats in biscuit or cream leather with turquoise piping and I have an old style centre clock to put in.
Furiousjim: I played around with a few colours before deciding on this one. What clinched it in the end was the fact that it was a factory colour in 1969 and again in 2000.
On with the update
Put the rear mk2 lights in that I bought

Amazing how a bit of colour & chrome transforms the look.
A neighbour gave me this clock. It was his fathers, bought for a Morris Minor. Hope I can find a place for it.

I mentioned a while back that I had some more ideas for LED's.
Played around for a while at the front and eventually came up with this. 6 x 3mm LED's mounted & soldered at the rear

Not the greatest picture. but they are there trust me.
Not exactly Audi A4 admitted but I think they may add something.

If not, I can always switch 'em off!
Managed to get a bit of glass in also.

Tinted the fixed side windows (first attempt disaster)

Not looking forward to doing the rear. If anyone has any tips
Doors & such next, don't forget to check back.
Thanks for looking
Regards
Steve

the Headlining is wicked, is it one of Retro retrims?? - i really need a new one for mine... and what did you use to stick it in place??
The rear screens i find are normally much easier to do than the fronts....

Hi Emalee
Yes the headlining is from Chris at Retro. It's the perforated material which I quite like.
It's fitted on the original metal bars whilst the edges were glued down using a spray adhesive (on to the metal left a minute and then fitted)
Took some playing about with to get the creases out but got there in the end.
I had a set of sunvisors done at the same time with a nice detailed turquoise stitching on the edges.
Give Chris a call I'm sure he can sort you out.
