Picked up 'General' on Saturday morning. Lots of work on the body needed and some interior work. The engine runs pretty well but the huge jap style cans will be removed as they are far too loud. Also the seats will be replaced as they aren't really my thing.

Collected it this morning

Now the bad bits .......

I forgot to take a pic of the hole in the outer sill, plus there are a few more surface rust spots but the worst are above.

Work will start probably in a couple of weeks, first stripping the interior then ordering which body parts need replacing!

had a good look over the car today and the to-do list is getting longer!

Driver and passenger front floor pan
Both a-pillars
Definitely a new sill on passenger side, maybe on driver side
Rub in all surface rust and hope for the best!
Replace corners of scuttle
Strip and replace brakes
Rear sub frame mountings might need work

Cosmetic stuff:

Remove stickers
Change seats
Change steering wheel
Retrim dash
Remove bull bars
Remove sun strip

Time to purchase a MIG welder I reckon!

Got a couple of hours on the car last night,

Removed the bull bars, roof sticker, dixie horn, arches, sunstrip, harnesses, rear seats, passenger bucket and all carpets. The whole in the floor close to the seat mounting is a little bigger than I had noticed but not too bad.

I'll get some more pics of the floor tomorrow.

Are you keeping the big 'n' little wheels or going for same size front and rear? Either way, looks cool! :)

HAHA that looks so cool. Whats your plan for it then as your not keeping the Dukes Of Hazzard theme?

The first aim is to get it through the MOT and then secondly to tidy up the bodywork, make it solid etc.

After that, it all depends on finances! I do hope to get matching alloys for the front but might try a set of 12s to see how that looks.

I like the 13s :)

Stripped the rest of the interior out today and rubbed down so of the surface rusting. Definitely looks like I need a new driver side wing, but was thinking of going flip front if it's possible to get that for a Clubman?

I think it's had a new driver side wing in the past. Both A-pillars have come away from the sills so will need replacing, and talking of sills the passenger side will need replacing completely. Also, as usual there is a lot of rust on the inner wing where the heater mounting is.

I've got some more pics, just need to get them off the camera. Car looks sorry for itself at the moment!

I'll sell them when I've taken them off. Probably a job for next weekend, although need to order a replacement backbox first.
