Hello,

I have searched through the forum but unable to find a topic which covers the problem i have.

I know that in order to fit 13x7 i neeed to cut away some of the front of the wheel arch but mine rub behind the wheel as well. ive attached pic if it helps.

I just wanted to confirm that its normal when fitting these wheels that i will need to cut behind and infront of the wheel so it can turn without rubbing?

Thanks in advance.

Cant say about the cutting specifics but when you say rubs behind do you mean when you turn to lock? with 13x7 you can't go lock to lock without rubbing, either get something like KAD steering rack spacers to limit the rack or just dont turn that far :(

Something is not right, they shouldn't rub on the a panels.

yes it rubs when on going to full lock. I have bought some rack limiters by they done fit my rack very well so i have bought a sportspack rack. Will fit it tomorrow and hope this solves the problem.

You need to be looking at your Tie-Bars. At a guess I'd say it's had adjustable ones fitted and they've been lengthened, to try and stop the wheels rubbing. Or the standard ones are seriously bent ! Either way to fix it, you need to reset/replace them, back to standard length.

The tie bars are straight and original non adjustible. Thanks for your help i think i may alter the A panel slightly so it fits on full lock.

If you download the template from the 'mini sport' web site it shows that you have to cut the wing and the 'A' panel to get the 7x13 wheels on properly.

the mini was never designed for such big wheels.
firstly your mini WILL require some metal cutting away from the front panel and/or wing area to stop the tyre fouling the bodywork.contact simon at minispares and ask for the template you will require, dont forget TMF plus members qualify for discount.once the metal has been removed dont forget to roll the edge back, appy some rust preventer and colour finish.if your car has been lowered then the wheel will also foul the a-panel on lock.
to maximise your options i would fit hi-los all round along with fully adjustable suspension, not really required but will help, also make sure the rest of your suspension components are up to the job

along with fully adjustable suspension

Aye would agree - big wheels do need the geometry setting up accuratly to get the best out of it >_<
