i had a supercharger kit fitted from them and my engine was built by them especially for the supercharger and as soon as the charger went on it blew 3 pistons up a few miles down the road.
A few mechanics reckon it was down to the ring end gap not being right due to where the pistons had broke.
I now have compression problems since the new pistons have been fitted by them as they have not been dished enough so the compression is sky high. Im running 160psi on each cylinder with a supercharger!!ive had to buy a new head with bigger ccs to lower the compression as it was just blowing head gasgets every hundred mile.

also forgot to add that the head that was on it the chambers on it should have been 28cc but they wernt they were still standard.

Ruddy hell 160? You sure your pressure tester is calibrated. Im only getting 180 on 12.5:1.

When it comes down to it. Morspeed should have put their hands up and said yeh we messed up. Given people their money and components back then rebuild the company from there.

But they are starting to target people who have said avoid them or in this case just said look at what someone else has said. Doesn’t really help their image.

I had the two studs that held the oil filter adaptor bracket missing when I got my engine back. Wouldn't have been so bad, but my car is a 68 and has the longer adaptor studs original filter (not the screw in oil filter). I asked for the bolts a few times and they said they would send them in the post. Took a good few calls before they sent me some parts but suprise suprise they were the wrong ones. Ended up sourcing them from a parts fair at donnington earlier on this year.

The more I think about the problems I have has with my rebuild, the more it winds me up :D

If a customer is not happy then they have every right to voice their opinion. In our club we discuss which companies are good and which are bad, be this quality of work, items in stock or whatever, we tell eachother which companies are best - that's how it works, it's called freedom of speech, tends to work well.

In 1933 a certain man took over a certain european country and took this away. That man is now dead and that country has now recovered. History tells us that when someone attempts to remove freedom of speech it has poor results - this is the problem I have with it.

Minisport are a company I use fairly regularly, they're my Godsend if I need a bit for the car, they're local and the service is excellent. They have their flaws, mainly being that stuff isn't in stock when it should be and that often this takes a long time because "the computer is telling them it's not there" but when it does come, the staff offer to help us take the stuff to the car, give us hints and offer advice on mini-related stuff. Now that is customer service, how it should work.

That's my tuppence.

Off topic I know, but the only time I have used Minisport they advertised a genuine SU pump, sent me a pattern one, then had the nerve to tell me on the phone that they 'dont make genuine SU anymore'!! Posted on here and heard a whole load of other horror stories about trade discription reated issues. Suffice to say I don't trust them anymore. Once bitten, twice shy!!

Ridiculous...
There was a company called "Your Classic" operated by Philip E Kruman and his wife (Pippy)
They screwed over a lot of people, some of who still email me about it.
I got done by them too.
But had i (and tens of other people) used this forum to write about their misdeeds, i (and others) could have saved time and money from steering clear of that way.
A forum like this one should be THE place to write about customer dissatisfaction

Just tell them to shut their pie-hole

and thats what morspeed dont seem to understand, there complaining about all the flack its gettin but when you hear of horror stories from these companies that have left things off, parts come back with sheered off bolts this phrase comes to mind.

sure iv never had the opportunity to deal with morspeed yet as i wont be rebuilding an a series anytime soon but i have heard good and bad things about them, but that wont necessarily sway whether i go to them in the future, i hear there work is top notch but it just depends whether im willing to take the risk... and that initially is my choice not the choice of other users on here.

^ Also are you willing to risk a poor job and then, when you mention here or elsewhere, put up with threats from their lawyers!

Never used these people but I'd avoid any company that tries to shut it's customers up with threats from lawyers.

iv never even heard of the company so they must be rubbish?
what do they do then? whats the fuss about
at the end of a day a company cant do f8ck all about someones opinion and they cant take you to court about it
noones made threats ((( i atleast i hope noone has made threats ))) but they cant sue you for posting something saying your really peevd of because you brought a product and it was crap.
so i say boo to whoever sent that letter as you cant sue anyone for an opinion!

Like many, i've avoided commenting on any former threads concerning Morspeed due to not having any involvement. Since i have not dealt with them, its clearly not appropriate to become involved.

Despite this, I'm sure that I'm not the only one who thinks this:

Morspeed's constant arguing against negative claims and ridiculous solicitor threats over free speech means that I will never deal with them, no matter what build quality their engines or components finally arrive with!

Customer service is the heart of any business and Morspeed seem not to have a clue!

I'll keep to the companies who genuinely care about customer satisfaction, do not threaten legal action over a public forum and can deal with customers in a mature fashion!

Im just beginning the build of a 1380cc, I'll be sure to keep well clear of anything with Morspeed involved!

Me and my friend are from Poland. After some nice emails with Simon we placed the order for 1400pounds (so not so small) - It was February 21st 2009!
What is important - before we placed the order Simon wrote that he has EVERYTHING in stock - it was FEBRUARY.
He wrote some excuses every 2weeks or month - I dont want to write how many email I wrote without any answer
Last emails was the best - I wrote that we cannot wait any longer and we waiting for OUR money, otherwise we report that to the Police
And what he wrote? - "Call the Police"
nice eghh???

and you saying nobodys perfect??? you want to say anything about Simon honesty???
