In his outstanding book, "Race and Rally Car Source Book", the recently deceased Allan Staniforth has a table on page 107 of the book which lists drag specs for various cars.

He doesn't list a Clubman specifically, but lists about 5-6 Mini variants whose drag coefficients range from 0.485 to 0.53

The frontal areas are all at 20.4 sq. FEET except for two lowered(2 inches) Minis which are listed at 19.7 sq. FEET.

This really is a useful book with tonnes of useful text and figures on subjects including: aerodynamics, suspension/handling and engine/gearing subjects.

I refer to it regularly to look up information of all types.

Staniforth also wrote the classic "High Speed, Low Cost" that covered his Terrapin race cars which were Mini-powered and used Mini suspension bits.

Another excellent work by a great man who was quite a friend of the Mini and its enthusiasts.

Are you sure about the frontal area ?? 20 square inches is like 4x5 or 100mm x 125mm, I think you mean feet not inches :P

Allan Staniforth Who will be sadly missed by a lot of people int he racing fraternity

I'll 2nd the reading recommendation. IIRC he allows lower frontal area figures for lowered cars because he includes the area under the car too. If you can find some top speed or mpg figures for round nose 'n clubby models that are the same in every other respect you should be able to work out a pretty reasonable CD off that for the round nose.

I've always thought that the Cd for a Mini is about 0.5. I guess \I read that back in the mists of time gone by.
By the way, the seams on the A and C posts on the Mini are 44 sq.ins. which must reduce the Cd by a bit if you remove them.

Thanks for all the info chaps.
The slabnose must have quite a difference in Cd and frontal area from the roundnose but I will play with the above figures and see what the results are.

Thanks again for the help.
