Little update but nothing major:
** Decided to keep the black grille so rubbed it down and sprayed it up yesterday
** Didn't like the black indicator rings so took them off and stripped them to chrome - except i found someone had covered them in filler!!! they're Very pitted but now that it's done - i like it - adds some 'patina' to the car.
Going to start fitting things like CV boots today i think.... depending on how messy things get.
I hope to have the engine running in two weeks

Yeah it was a good find on the hoses- wasn't really looking for them but when i saw them i thought it was silly not to really given the price.

Swapped my Wood and Picket arches for some narrow 'works' type Group 2's from a guy up at my local motorfactors. They came with all the side trim, the arch to wing beading and the sill strips! Really really happy with them, They'll look perfect:
Also the centre console arrived, it was very dirty, and looked knacked! However I've renewed all the screws, retrimmed the rubber seam strips, then scrubbed it down with a stiff brush and some white spirit. The polished it back up. looks brand new now. Did have to re-trim the Stereo plate however, so I used some acoustic carpet i had lying about.
The arm rest section needs re-trimming, so I've ordered some leatherette so I can make a new cover for it, once that's done I'll fit it to the car. Really happy with it, it looks nice and retro, and means i can have a stereo in a good position for the remote to work and it wont get in the way of anything. Added bonus is that i can rest my arm!
So glad I don't have one of those awful centre consoles with the vents in.. blurgh!

That seal ring for the sump plug; for which model year Mondeo is it (if it matters)?
That's a VERY nice solution (I'd like to copy shameless )!
I like your Mini! It's one of those cars with that special charme you don't find often!
Cheers,
