The fact that it was still so quick even with a ruined turbo, just shows that this thing is a beast!

I don't know how I missed this thread before but I've just spent about 5 hours reading it (very quiet night at work) Astounding, amazing, insane etc I love it, you deserve a medal! A massive thank you for posting it all up

No worries Tim, I'm glad you enjoyed the read, but blimey it must have been a quiet day at work!
I spoke to the turbo specialists friday and ive opted for:
- an upgraded billet compressor wheel, which should increase spool and air flow and
- a clipped exhaust wheel, this is good for more power top end, but unfortunately generates slightly more lag.
I thought what the hell im going to be at the top of the rev range the majority of the time anyway, so the lag shouldnt really matter.
Lets just hope the turbo turns up and I get time to slap it back on, ready for this weekend at the pod!

The postie has been good to me today....
I can believe it's the same turbo.... I would recommend 'Turbo Rebuild' as they delivered me a quality service and knew their stuff!

Didn't see this at the Pod? Spent most of the day in the queue for the strip, but sure i would have seen this thing from a mile off!

I then spend Sunday walking around enjoying the show but not participating. I was gutted to say the least.
The turbo is back off again and is going to be rebuilt (again)

Upon striping the unit it has appeared that the front oil gallery got blocked and starved the front compressor bearing of oil.
The bearing got abit warm and then tried to weld itself to other components due to the slight increase in temperature.
Ultimately the shafted snapped and hence my last 1/4 mile run of 20.09 seconds with no turbo!
Anyway... The new turbo has arrived and will be fitted shortly....
