Another thing, did you have to take it for a fancy test before mot? And how easy was it to change the log book?

The car still feels like a mini to drive, just one with really heavy steering.
Baldspeed, where about a do you usually drive then?? I'll keep an eye out for you.

I've got the pedal box sorted.... The master cylinders were in good working order. It was actually down to the length of the rod on the master cylinder being too long and not allowing the fluid to return to the reservoir!!
Despite being a complete off the shelf item, which should have worked, it didn't.

It's not much to look at, but I put the new Wilwood master cylinders in and bled the brakes.
And yes those mounting bolts and banjo bolts are a ******* to do up. A spanners life was sacrificed and cut down and ground off to allow for streamlined access!!

So tomorrow is the day.... I'm going out for a drive... Once the frost clears from the roads!

I got the 850 badge fitted

5DA9E6FC-EA23-4591-AF9F-E61CFB767325_zps

It looks pretty standard and I like it.

So I started it up this morning to go out in it only to be plagued by it firing on 2 cylinders.
2 and 3 were receiving a spark, so we diagnosed it down to a faulty coil pack.
After spending time trying to find one on a Sunday we finally fitted another to find that it hadn't cured the problem.
Another hour later a wire was found in the loom broken from its pin.

Problem fixed we set out for a drive.....
Bloody hell it's quick, it goes through gears very quickly and pulls like a train. Footage will be coming shortly.
It wasn't reading revs correctly so that needs sorted and it was only registering 1.0bar of boost.
So I've got a couple of things to sort, along with getting it tracked, but it's bloody quick!

One thing is, to test it properly I need to put it on the track. On the road you just starting running out of space!!

I'm not sure I'd be fooled by a Mini 850 badge sat behind a 15 foot wide Mini.....!!!

Baldspeed, I'll keep an eye out for a mk3 wagon as there can't be too many of those about!

As for fitting it through a drive through, they wouldn't be able to hear my order due to a) the exhaust and b) shouting through Perspex! Lol

I think it was 6ft 2" wide but yes, I agree. I wouldn't trust the badge either!

I've got a long list of refinements to do one of which is to stop the boot from opening, the other is to fix the oil leak from the front diff seal! (It's typical that the only seal I didn't replace bloody leaks)
Another thing is to get some 0-60 times and acceleration graphs! I was gutted that I forgot my phone which has a g meter/speedo/data logger app on!

It doesnt handle too badly, although it isnt properly aligned so i wasnt pushing it hard into corners or anything.

Although there does seem to be quite a transfer of weight upon acceleration, you can feel the nose pick up and you can see that in the video.

Ill get the niggles out the way and hopefully put it down the pod on the first run what ya brung day of the year.

Posting might be alittle sporadic as all the little jobs arent exactly picture pleasing, but i will do my best to keep people up to date.

*****And shameless plug i know - if anyone has a spare standard rear view mirror, then get in touch, as I dont know where ive put mine!*****
