The plan is to stick with the cosworth width, although dependant on what comes from the meeting with the suspension set-up man as i might go double wishbone suspension all round, we will see.
Although i do plan on running 9*13" alloys, revolution minators to be exact, but they havent arrived yet..
The arches i will be approaching zcars about as i think i will need some 9" wide ones to cover the wheels, apart from that everything else will be standard looking.
cosworth pictures:
The sills have been braced as this is where the mini sill will measure up to. The round tube in the middle will act as a slider, so once cut in half width ways, thats the distance the floor will shrink by length ways (front to back). if that makes sense!
I did have a go at removing the sound deadening but didnt get far. All sound deadening will be removed along with all excess brackets or bits of metal. Weight isnt a fast cars friend.
Mini pictures:
That sound deadenings got to come off! The weight of that will definately slow the car down!
The vertical inner sill plate is what will be used to mount the floor to
Boot floor ready for the rear diff
Theres surely enough space to mount a YB turbo lump in there
A tad rusty...
More sound deadening that will be removed.... who needs it anyway when the exhaust is going to exit either through the bonnet or out of the wing.
Oh and some more goodies i have picked up along the way
R888's the widest but smallest they do.. 225/45 * 13s
Floor mounted bias pedal box with hydraulic clutch
Group a headgasket ready for around 380bhp!
Oh and a fuel pump good enough for the job! motorsport 044 pump
Let us know what you all think...

Good luck with it all, I'll be looking forward to reading the updates,
Regards,
Nick
Oh- and as you mentioned, you have gotta get anti-lag, my mate has it on his Evo, and its worth it just for the noise and the flames out the exhaust, let alone the power gains

Just read your thread all the way through, fair play to you, takes alot of determination to go at a project like this, yes its a shame to break up a cossie, but at least its gonna be going on to bigger and better things!
Good luck with it all, I'll be looking forward to reading the updates,

Nick

and to show you the width of them ....
I wasnt thinking of getting anti lag as you need a maram shaft in the turbo which costs the best part of £600 second hand, then you have to have a half decent down pipe to take the added heat. Without these you run the risk of something breaking.
However I was thinking of Launch Control, which will allow me to build boost when stationary with it in gear and the clutch in. Hopefully this will allow for all the pops and bangs on the occasions i need it without all the added cost as mentioned above. Oh yeah and it will get me off the line like theres no tomorrow.

As for the cosworth badge, trust me, it would never go back on. Although I have saved my 'mini 850' badge to put back on the mini. Hopefully to confuse people as they see me whizz past them!
