The benefit I have is that when I'm driving it I won't see them.

Good point well made! Think you'll be more concerned about keeping hold of your internal organs than how pretty the arches look.

Why not buy some other arches and just widen them? I'm running 7 1/2 outside the body on the front, the all 4 arches only took me a day to widen with fiberglass...

Yep I concede that the arches could look better.
But no one was able to give me an off the shelf solution.
The fronts have to be extended 6" longitudinally aswell as 9" from the body due to the extended flip front.
The rears just need 9" out from the body.
As I have had no experience with fibreglass I didn't want to undertake such a tall order myself.
Anyhow, they are what they are and if anyone feels compelled to make me a set then please feel free.

I like the arches, and I am overwhelmed with the whole car. Such a beast that you should be proud of. Bet you are just itching to get it out road legal. Planning to track it or show it at all?

Yeah, but I've still got lots of work.
Order new rose joints, make new rear tie bars, space out water pump pulley, get new rad cap that seals, fit rear brakes, set up brake bias, fit harnesses, fit door pulls, wire up brake lights and headlights. Oh and fit arches! Lol
They are just all bitty jobs that take ages to do, and working a minimum of 13hr days doesn't help.
It will get there and the moment it does I'm taking it up santa pod.

The tap for the rear caliper turned up today so I set about installing the rear brakes.
Only to tap the hole and for a sleeving to break free from the caliper. Now the hole is too big for the tap that I just waited a week to turn up!
So instead I organised my tools in my new roll cab

I think we have the same set of verniers :P The ones with the screw locks. Loving the tool organisation though. It's nice to have a tidy up every now and then.

Unfortunately no pictures, but she is fully functional now with only 21 jobs required to legally drive.
The brakes are now fully fitted and working.
The rear drivers side has been stripped and the handbrake mechanism removed, tapped and sealed with a big bolt. That's because I'm too tight to spend £30 on a seal kit! Lol.
The brakes are all bled, along with the handbrake, but I can't drive it as its blocked in at the unit. :-(
The rear suspension arms have been chopped to pull in the negative camber and has been adjusted by eye. I also have some spare rose joints when it gets aligned. (because a couple were knackered and had minor play in them)
So it's pretty much ready to roll....
Although thanks to Phil off this very forum for the wiper linkage. I should have wipers next week!
I'll have number plates soon and I am booked in for an MOT!
I've also phoned up for insurance and it's pretty reasonable!
So it's going to be on the road soon!
The only downside is that I'm going on holiday this Friday and the last santa pod day is 26/10/14, so it won't get christened at the pod!
What other mini shows are there soon??

For those that are interested: pictures of the caliper being ripped to bits.

This is the sierra rear caliper with the piston removed and worm removed, which just pulls out.

This is the worm that pulls out

This hole was where it was leaking from, so I removed the handbrake mechanism to tap the hole.

This is the removed handbrake mechanism and how it fits with the worm.

Got the grille fitted, hole in the footwell fitted and the exhaust wrapped in heat wrap.
Also managed to get the lights working (kinda)
