Well that's what I was going to do, but apparently if it came with a screen originally it has to have one.

Rule must of change then because I've been told by two different moters before

I know its hard to get a straight MOT answer as people interpret rules differently.

Well .......

I went out for a drive in the beast today.....

The only think that I could fault with her is that she has a low battery and the warning light came on and blinded me. Other than that she was fine, I didnt get above 3k though and she started popping out the exhaust. lol

It is a complete sensory experience.

The clutch is heavy,

the steering is heavy at very slow speeds,

the throttle is light and very responsive, I can sense that it just wants to fly

you can feel every bump transmitted through the car

the fuel pumps are whirring

and that exhaust ....... bloody hell.... it transmits sound waves through your body. (I was too scared to turn on the anti lag!)

My mate who was filming said it was quite quiet...... i laughed at him as it was a completely different experience inside the car.

I will get the video off him and upload it.

So tomorrow, the plan is to change the cv boots and fit the headlights and tail lights and the flip front.

Then go for a proper drive and test her out in the daylight

That looks insane! Just looks like a mini shell plonked on a monster truck! I would not be anything like as refined as you, and I wouldn't do a 3 point turn. I'd let the power help!

Right, today has been a good day.......
I got up early and set about changing both inner cv boots and after abit of a faff got them both swapped out and replaced.

I then set about fitting the front end, rather unfortunately it meant more cutting as the intercooler fouled the front of the bonnet bulge.

Rather unfortunately the tap to thread the rear caliper hasn't turned up so the rear brakes couldn't be finished.

With those jobs done I was determined to take it for a drive: these are the videos that followed

During the first test run I thought it was misfiring but it didn't turn into anything.
The battery was abit low so it may have been down to that.
After a couple of runs I managed to take my eyes off the road and glance at the rev counter and boost gauge, they were at about 3700 revs and 0.4 bar of boost.
It felt amazing driving it under abit of load and i thought it was quick!
But thinking about it, it's got about 5 times more boost and double the revs to go......
The realisation of what I have created is finally setting in..... It is going to be absolutely insane. I am trying to describe it but I cant. It makes my hairs on the back of my neck stand up just thinking about it.

Gotta love a bit of flutter from a turbo motor.

What are the arches like?

Have a look back through the pages, there are some pictures of it fresh out the paint shop with the arches on, but here's one of them

How far do the wheels stick out? Only in my opinion those wheel arches are the only thing that let the car down?

Yeah I'm not exactly happy with them, but they are necessary when the wheels stick out 9" each side.
Custom wheels and a revision of arches may come in the future if a) I can be bothered, b) I have the spare cash.
The benefit I have is that when I'm driving it I won't see them.

Just don't forget about the extra width and try squeeze through a mini sized gap and pull your arches off!
