Well the clutch is still causing problems.
It has a new .7 master cylinder and it has been bled.
The master cylinder adjustment pin has been adjusted but doesn't make any difference.
Also the slave cylinder is new but after abit of fiddling it seemed that it was shipped halfway through its movement.
So it was pushed back and a new longer actuating rod was fabricated and fitted.
But it still isn't engaging....
I dunno what else it could be.

The hole in the floor as it was impossible to bleed without it!

I can't believe it's being such a pain for you! I really do hope you find what's happening with it and can get it fixed :(

Yeah I know, my real fear is that something has happened with the clutch release bearing or the clutch arm and the engine and gearbox has to be split!

How long has the clutch been fitted to the flywheel? I ask because I've seen cars that hardly get used and the clutc plate ends up sticking to the flywheel so when you press the clutch it still won't allow any gears to be selected, quickest way to sort it is to start it in gear and slip the clutch while driving. I'm not saying this is your problem but if you think you're getting enough travel on the clutch release fork then it's worth a look.
Impressive build by the way

Just to add, if you go down this route obviously start it in gear with your foot on the clutch, this should be enough to free it off if it is infact the plate sticking to the flywheel

Cheers geachy, it's something I hadn't considered, I'll give it a go. The clutch has been fitted for over a year and was a good second hand unit when installed (100miles old)

So I got home today after a long day and thought I would follow your advice geachy.
I started it in gear and it jumped forward.... No such luck.
I did it a couple of times and on the last attempt the pedal showed slightly more travel...

I then forced it down and I heard a 'ping,' my heart sunk as I thought something had broke as I applied alittle too much pressure on the pedal!

However it was the return spring extending.

The pedal gradually went further and further to the floor.

I pumped it a couple of times and this is the result

Geachy - if your ever at a show and you see the car, come over and say hello and I will buy you a pint!

5 years, 4 months and 14 days after I started this, I now have a car that actually drives.

Good stuff! Glad I could help. You must have been smiling from ear to ear when it finally went.
If I'm ever at a show I'll take you up on the offer.

Cheers,
Iain
