So parts turned up today... I couldn't contain my excitement. Finally the last parts I needed to start driving my car.

I whipped the front wheel off and set about fitting the brakes.
They don't fit......... Ah man you have got to be kidding me.

Yeah I think someone is trying to tell me something......so close but so far.
I'm booked in for the end of the month so that's the new deadline!
Failing that I'm making my own brackets!!

I tried a similiar size brake disc setup on my mini, I could easily fit the large disc no problem, but the calipers were no where near. I didn't say anything as your calipers where a different make to mine and I thought they could fit

ah mate so close...

when you say doesn't fit is it by a lot or can you get away with tickling them with a grinder? I can't really make it out in the pics ( I'm not saying do that it's probably unsafe or something :) )

I'm not attacking them with a grinder.
The point being that I paid a company to come up with a solution.
They haven't, so I want them to remedy it.
They are really nice calipers and I don't want to take a grinder to them.

Well today has been painful. I came home from work and started work on the car at 7pm.
I wanted the brakes to turn up today but hispec can't keep their word so apparently the brackets are turning up tomorrow, despite getting a text from the courier saying Monday!!!
So despite needing the car to be driving tomorrow 30miles I have now had to rent a trailer! Thwaites.
So I thought I would press on with the other brake lines.
Got them fitted, started filling the lines only for both rear banjos to start leaking and for the master cylinder on the pedal box being completely screwed. It doesn't even output any fluid! So the whole pedal box has to come out!
Also to bleed the clutch I have to cut a big hole in the passengers side footwell to gain access.
Oh and the flip front now has two huge holes in it and it still doesn't fit!

Rant over.

Oh and I am never recommending Hi Spec to anyone. At no point have they ever responded to my concerns/complaints via email. I have always had to chase them. I might even just get them refunded and make my own stuff. That's how annoyed I am at them!

Also the brakes didnt arrive Saturday despite being assured by HiSpec that they would. (shakes head)

Its hard to tell but get how many degrees of negative camber the rear end had?

In that piccy it looks like one of the cars that do the race in mud to see how far they can get.....

Looks awesome tho mate and nearly there now buddy.... I bet with that track it's more or less square isn't it hehe

Cheers james

No it's only got 3.5 degrees!
It's a fair bit off being square, it just looks like it!

The brakes fit, just!

It's about 1.5mm clearance and the wheel weights will need to be taken off.

Now there's nothing stopping me getting on and driving the car, apart from a new shopping list which potentially includes 12 new rose joints :-(
