This. Is. Insane.

I've just read it through from start to finish, it sounds like it's been a hell of a slog but you're not far away now. And I know it'll be worth it once you've got it all done and dusted.

Normally I'm more of a fan of keeping minis standard but the sheer amount of love and engineering that's gone into it is going to make a blindingly fun, and fast, machine!

I've been ordering some parts and I can't believe how expensive fuel filler hose is! I would recommend 'car builder solutions' for some.
Anyhow the point of no return

I think mounting it like i have has ruined the look of the rear end but needs must, as there's no way in hell I'm climbing in the back to fuel it.

Front perspex is in and silicon sealed front and back. I've pushed the perspex to the outside of the doors and fitted the front outside door seal. I've sealed the underside and I've expanded foamed either side of the perspex to hold it in place.

Hopefully the carbon door cards will be trimmed and fitted shortly.

One side done, which isn't too bad as I usually end up drilling holes just slightly off so the bolts don't line up!

The drivers side door doesn't fit that nicely but hopefully when the door card goes on it will pull it in and hold it.
Does anyone else have problems fitting fibreglass doors and perspex?

Sorted the ignition amplifiers

And fitted and cleaned the samco hosing, swirl pot, dump valve and surprisingly they went on with minimal fuss.

If you've got 300 plus horsepower you could put metal doors on, they are not that heavy

Cheers

I did the same with my old project, went a bit weight saving mad, but after fitting the fibreglass doors and getting a fit like yours, i was more than pissed off. They soon went in the bin after the first test drive. ill leave it for you to find out how good they are haha.

Regarding the doors: I wanted fibreglass doors as I wanted the car as light as possible, but I would have thought people making them would have used a jig!! They weren't cheap copies so I thought they would be a straight swap.
Anyhow I'll get it running and see how badly the wind effects them. I suspect quite badly, but hey ho, I'm not going to loose sleep over it at the moment.
