Just wondering what are you cleaning everything with? Everything's come up really nice, the block in particular looks awesome

I just cleaned the block with wire wool and good old fashioned elbow grease.
I found that as the block was all uneven the wire wool did the job to get into all the nooks and crannies.
Although the block is painted silver and isn't just the block stripped back.

Hopefully it will be quick! 380bhp is what I'm aiming for!
Blimey that must have taken a while to read all the pages.

360bhp is brilliant if you can get anywhere near 600 per tonne you'll leave everything standing

Best of luck to you and I'll be following with interest

Can anyone tell me how I fix the head to the block when it's like this??(see earlier post)
null_zps113487fc.jpg

The answer is to remove the rocker cover, all 10million bolts, scrape off the sealant around the half moon seals and be really pleased that I bought a re-useable rocker cover gasket.
Then fit head to block and then fit gasket, sealant and the 10 million bolts that hold the rocker cover on. I mean what happened to fixing it with just 2 bolts like the mini. Anyhow rant over and lesson learnt.
Managed to turn the engine the right way round and clean up pistons, fit uprated head gasket and fit the head. Is it me or its actually coming together....?

Those eagle eyed will spot the distributor blanked off ready for distributorless ignition.
Now it's ready for the tubular manifold, Swedish inlet plenum and the turbo.....hmmmm

They prlly didnt use two bolts like the mini because, like the mini, it probably would seep oil everywhere!  ;D

Did abit more today... Cleaned the alternator and fitted the alloy pulley although sadly it is silver. Although the alternator bracket is red to make up for it.

Fitted a new crank positioning sensor and its RED alloy bracket

Went to fit my tubular exhaust manifold.... and the engine mount can't be fitted with it on! Grrrrrrrrrrrr.

If you look in the middle of the picture below you will see the hole that the mount is supposed to bolt into.... It's miles out.

It looks like I'm going to be using the standard crappy cast iron (weighs a tonne) manifold.

I'm gutted to say the least

Swaby are you on about the yellow one? If so I believe that was a 2.9 litre n/a v6 engine rather than my 2.0 turbo version
