Why the hell are the arches that wide ??

Because of the engine and rear axle is a much wider track than a standard mini...

That link is for breadbox racing's build on 16v mini club. I think he broke it up in the end and didn't finish it. If I remember it has a pontiac V8 in the back.

It was taken over by a guy called Joltfreak but not a lot has been done since. Here is the link

Love this. Also, with regards the rear and front track width, have you thought of a shortened rear beam? On passionford a guy with a rwd fezza has a beam which has had 2 or more inches chopped out the width of the beam. I will give you the link. Just an idea if you get smaller arches. Looks like a monster. Best of luck, Nathan

Cleaning the block takes ages...... But by the end of it, it looks better for it.
The new viton seals for the crank, front and rear, are fitted along with the auxiliary seal.
I just need for the block to dry properly then I can fit the sump seals and then big winged sump.
While the block was drying, I managed to finish off the cylinder head. Installed the half moon seals, gasket and sealant and tightened everything down. Also fitted the thermostat housing with new o-ring so it is literally ready to bolt down.

All the pulleys are going to be red, along with all the aeroquip red/blue fittings, however hoses are going to be blue.
So I'm going with a red and blue theme!

It's not going to be throughout the car as there is literally nothing going in the car. Just the pure basics, fuel tank, brake lines, seats and carbon door cards. Hopefully it won't rattle too much!

It will get done its just a question of how long it will take....(as with all projects)
More pictures..
I've dug out the sump from the shed and fitted it after getting some aeroquip fittings welded to things. Also managed to fit some pulleys despite putting the auxiliary pulley on backwards to begin with! (Matt Damon)

Note the homemade blanking bracket on the right hand side which replaced the really heavy power steering bracket. Also the breather and oil return line had bee fitted for aeroquip fittings.
Prizes to those who can spot how many aeroquip fittings are in the last picture! Lol
I just hope the sump seals as there's no gasket in between them!
