Woohoo! Progress! Worried that this had ground to a halt!

Don't think they are a bit too wide? Looks a bit... Odd... Can't reduce the wheelbase at all?

Maybe the colour choices for arches & body ratio would make it look better ?

Although with that cosworth engine in nobody will have time to judge the looks :P
How is the engine coming on ?

My mini was initially this wide (standard sierra track), I couldn't get away with the look, so I removed 6" from the track, for me it was fairly straight forward as it was 2wd only. It has meant extra expense with custom made driveshafts and other stuff but I think it was worth it

Cheers
David

I know they look hell-of-a-wide but im committed to it now, so im going to run with the standard sierra width and see how I get on with it.
I know I didnt help the situation by choosing wide wheels aswell but im going to give it a chance.
The main reasoning behind it was that I could use standard sierra stuff rather than going the route of getting custom shafts. I did contemplate the idea but moving the hubs in, steering rack, compression struts, tca's and all 4 shafts, but is quite a large job. Also getting someone who would do it for me is another problem in itself!
Anyway hopefully once things are fitted and its running they wont be as noticeable (coughs)
The engine is slowly being rebuild with the head currently getting some work done to it.

Fair enough:). Just would suck for it to be finished and you turn round and say it handles like a sack of potatoes and you want to change it.. I'd do it now!:P. square track is never good!:D

I know they aren't ideal, but it would need everything chopped up again.
I can better the situation by getting some force racing wheels made to give huge clearance with a custom offset to bring it in if needs be.
I'm going to progress as planned and get it on the road.

Looking forward to seeing this thing done, but I've got to agree that eventually you'd be best off with some wheels with muuuch less offset and some smaller arches.

First things first, get it driveable! Keep going bud.

I sold my clubby auto to a guy who was doing one of these, he was making a space frame and dropping the body on, it would be nice to see the finished product,
I hope it goes to plan m8 keep us posted :gimme:

Yeah there are a couple of people who are doing this, I know one who has made his 2wd and someone who is putting scooby running gear in one. If I was starting a fresh, i would have spaceframed it. (hey ho :whistling: )

Things are moving along...... its painted ...... hmmmmmm 'frozen white'
I dont think the arches look too bad with it now being one colour.
There are a few runs in it but im going to get it rolling and everything fitted in place and then its going to get proper buffed up and finished, as I dont want to be marking the paint work unnecessarily.
