I think the colour will be either a matt black or a pearly white like used on audis....
But I would love for it to be at a stage where I could paint it!

Fuel system sorted and waiting to go in....

Fuel tank not pictured, but Holley Blue pump to act as a lift pump from the tank via a filter, into the swirl pot, the a 044 injection pump via a filter from the swirl pot to the fuel pressure regulator, then to fuel rail, then return to swirl pot, then return to fuel tank. (bulkhead connectors and hose not pictured)

Hey Kmol,

Hope you dont mind me saying but if you are going to run your fuel in one end and out the other of the fuel rail then I am pretty sure you want to place the FPR after the fuel rail else all that'll be a the correct pressure will be the pipe between the pump and the FPR. Thats how I have it on mine.

I got this from Webcon, ignore the filter and tank stuff but note the placement of the FPR after the injectors (fuel rail):

Cheers for the heads up Cptkirk, I must have got abit confused when taking the old stuff off as i thought the FPR was before the rail on the cosworth. I think i must have got the supply and return pipes mixed up when i removed them about what seems to be years ago! (oh hang on it was! - its bad its taken this long!)

One question though, if you dont filter the high pressure pump, surely that clogs up instead of the filter, or is it the case that debris will pass through it?

Hey ho, spoke to chap today about some plans I have for my mini, so if all goes well there should be major updates come the new year.

Oh and thanks about the socks! lol (or were you extracting the urine? lol either way i like them! ;) )

No worries. My setup is different to yours as I dont have the swirl pot, however my fuel line goes from the tank to a low pressure filter then the pump then a high pressure filter, so I would think you could even stick another low pressure in before your high pressure pump and a high pressure filter after if you so wanted. I got a fuel pressure gauge in mine so I can get some kind of warning if the fuel pressure drops as with an FI motor the last thing you need is for it to lean right out without you knowing, you shouldnt have too many probs with fuel starvation with the swirl pot though.

Socks: I just always have a little chuckle when I see peoples feet in a photo, no malice intended, although a little urine extraction was......

I look forward to seeing what you got planned for it.

Ah so you notice the socks but not the pistons and engine block taking up space in my bedroom?? lol I know if it wasnt for my iphone having a silly camera lense i would have been able to miss my feet out but at least i had my stripey socks on for all to see! lol

Anyhow back to the car: I plan to run a fuel pressure gauge as on the side of one of those connectors is an adaptor for one, so thats sorted!
As for future plans they are something abit like this:

hey sweet project you've got here. it will be scary fast when done! some questions though:
what are you doing for brakes? surely the 13's wont fit over the standard ones?
did you really have to get a 6" extended front to fit? imo it is uuuugggllllyyyy and will ruin the look of the finished car. cant you relocate stuff like the radiator to the back to make some more room, then get an intercooler fabricated that fits perfectly in the standard mini grill? that would look cool. even have the pipes going out the back of it so its just core and endtanks visible, made in the grill shape.

keep up the good work.

nice project mate this is going to be rapid i used to own a escort cosworth group a and no these like back of my hand il be watching this :)

The beast has been officially booked in for some more fabrication work (fully adjustable space framed rear end rear) and to get all the other welding jobs done!
Hopefully then I can get it back, wire it up, run some fuel lines and go for a drive! Im sure thats all thats needed!

Pictures to arrive as and when, but hopefully within the next 3 weeks!

Just before the car got collected today I took some snaps of the intercooler and rad.

Both items are off the shelf cosworth items and will bolt in with minimal fuss.
