It was really interesting to see what went wrong along the way and how you've fixed it, the car sort of morphed with all that welding and cutting and welding and cutting!
One of my fav projects of allll time

With the shortening of the original floor plan have you made any changes to steering arm angles for your Ackerman Principle? Something to consider....
I know the mini wheelbase is 2040 but what is the wheeltrack now on yours, looks to be around 1800???
Now is going to be the hard work for you, best of luck with it, cant wait to see it running.

Having pratted around with things today I took a quick measurement and from centre to centre the trackwidth is 1580, what that means in terms of technical calculations I dont know as I thought it was a relation with steering arms and rear diffs, but I think I will get it running and moving under its own steam and them see about getting it set up.I know the mini wheelbase is 2040 but what is the wheeltrack now on yours, looks to be around 1800???
Fitted the bias pedal box today and had a quick layout of both seats and fuel tank, and all I can say is that its going to be tight. I couldnt even get the seat to fit with side mounts fitted! So back to more head scratching and I think I might need some remote reservoirs fitted to the pedal box me thinks!
As for mocking up the front end I didnt get round to it (maybe tomorrow) but I think it might be the same as I have a huge intercooler that practically take ups the complete front end, lets just hope the flip front will accommodate it. (im sure it will)
All the pedals need levelling and adjusting but I just got it in to see how she looks
I started taking the sound deadening off of the roof but then realised how annoying that stuff is and went inside to get something to eat! lol

Not a juicy update but I've managed to source and install a working area, thankyou Mr B, as I was working in the rain with no workbench! I've also managed to work out how the front end is going to be mounted and ive got some steel for the seat mounts.
All I've got to do is cut the shapes and get welding. Although when the front end gets fitted the rad and intercooler will be a good picture!
I've also got some more parts on order which should help with the pedal box!

In all serious, in what relation do the above drawings presented portray for the layout of the mini cosworth? Will this effect handling etc? Interesting to learn..

cptkirk; but what does this all mean?!!

Well ideally the point of the triangle should meet level with the rear axle. If it doesnt then it is said to have a negative effect on the handling. As to the highlighted discrepancy I dont know how much of a negative effect it would have. Although im pretty sure that once it starts getting out of line, ie the back getting unstable then its pretty much going to spin due to the short wheel base. Lets just hope the 60/40 of power will help to combat this.
CptKirk: Are there any 'rules' as to how much it is out by and the effect it has on the vehicle??
The problem being is that there's so much to think about I think I would go crazy if everything had to be considered. While I do acknowledge it might be 'interesting' to drive as a result of the width to length ratio, im going on the basis that a 4wd mini with around 370bhp will more than make up for the effect that it will have on the handling.
