Its that time of the week again and strangely I have found my excitement grow exponentially, although for the strangest of reasons - the doors are on! Maybe it was just a case of that it was standing there with no obvious progress visible, but it now looks abit more of a 'car.' Dont get me wrong theres still tonnes to do, but I have managed to get a couple of things ticked off the list
Ive got a chip for the ECU (yes one with launch control and anti lag) the ecu is being sent off tomorrow for fitting and extra modifications.
Hopefully I will be picking up some narrow seats at the weekend as my Corbeau Revolutions that I had under the stairs for 6 years dont fit!
The bulkhead mounted pedal box has been ordered - yes I agree, think twice and order once, springs to mind! (Lesson duly learnt)
The rest of the adjustable suspension will be arriving at the start of next week.
Ive also ordered some huge mega miglia arches along with some fibreglass bumpers which should be arriving next week.
Also work on the front end will commence next week so that I can measure up and order a huge intercooler and radiator. More importantly I might get the overall outline of the car to see how it looks.. needless to say its getting there but its just going to take time, so bear with me.
Anyway enough of the typing, time for some piccys......

Passenger door bar installed ..

Also tacked into the B pillar for rigidity

Looking brilliant mate :bah:

Keep up the great work :withstupid: Can't wait to see it in the flesh when it's finished.

Don't do what the other chump did and put COSWORTH all over it. It just ruins it :\

was hunted around banbury for some aluminium the other day and ended up picking up a little bit from russel, real nice chap, never been there before. You mini looks great in the flesh, had a nose around and after seeing there TIG welding skills i chatted to em a little bit about possibly sorting a roll cage! see how it pans out. Bet your itching to have it finished!

Itching is an understatement... I cant wait until first start up let alone waiting until shes all ready to drive and all the issues/bugs have been resolved (as there's bound to be some!)
Yeah they are a good bunch down there, and like Russell says 'anythings possible' so im sure they could sort you out a roll cage, although don't take up too much of their time as I want mine done!! lol

I've got a pair of quite narrow twin skin fibreglass seats that are usually used for a caterham. There still full height so should still be up for the job, if not abit uncomfortable on long journeys!

The lump will get opened up, new head gasket, water pump, cam belt, alloy pulleys, sensors, spark plugs, leads, injectors, clutch, etc so abit more than a service. Hopefully nothing will be wrong with the block and head otherwise that's more money, although a stroker cossy lump does sound appealing! (actually scratch that idea, it's costing enough anyway!)

Well no real juicy pictures for you, but the arches, bumpers, ecu have all arrived, just waiting on the front suspension components and pedal box!
Work has continued on the outer sills as they arent a straight fit anymore! and the bonnent is being bonded into the flip front.
Anyway here are some pictures as the car was up in the air at the time of visit...

Do I win anything for having the worlds shortest propshaft?

Oh and my seats fit!! whoop whoop

Posted Image

Oh and believe it or not these arches looked huge when they arrived but they still need extending!
