They said not to bother with carbon driveshafts, so I'm just going to get a propshaft made up! Any chance of mates rates! Lol

nope! lol, he handed in his resignation a couple of weeks ago, having to work stupid hours. I think that they are short on engineers but not willing to hire any... madness. Good company though.

Yeah they seemed to be busy when I spoke to them! Hopefully they will have the time to look at mine, although if they don't there's no rush as there's plenty to be done with mine yet!

More gutting and sorting out the bulkhead....

Also had a look how good/bad the wheels look with the standard sierra track width... let me know what you think....
- keep the width which will be easier as I can buy rose jointed sierra suspension off the shelf or
- try and pull it in to make it look abit more 'normal' by redoing all the suspension and driveshafts

I think it would be worth the hassle to pull those wheels in a bit! Looks great but i think it would be a bit too much.

Kepp it up, i want to see this finished.... :P

What a cool project, just found it, awesome!

I agree with Calman, it does look a bit too wide, however I can imagine it's a right mission to squeeze it smaller.

All the best though!!

Just thought you could even run wheels with a really low offset so that it tucks the wheel in a bit further?

Looking great. I think you should pull the wheels in the way, to cover those you'll end up completely changing the shape of the mini if you want it to look streamlined.

Hello,
What are doing regarding brake disks and calipers? Are you going to use the standard setup?

Cheers
David

Just spotted you already answered that question

For ease of not complicating things I might just leave the width the way it is. I've got some zcar +8" arches coming so will see how it looks. If it looks too bad I might bite the bullet and just get the track sorted. Also I might get sone different offset wheels, the same type, but one inch further in. Hopefully this with the arches will sort the problem. (unless it just looks stupid)

As for the brakes the cosworth ones will be retained on the rear and xr4x4 which use smaller discs will be used at the front! Well that's the plan.

Hello,
I have 7*15 wheels and standard sierra width axles on the rear of my mini, my tyres are sticking out about 5.5 inches, they are 195/50/15 tyres and the wheels are ET35 offset. At 5.5 inches my tyres don't stick out that much more than a sportspack mini wheel

Cheers
David

My opinion only - but it would look cool to have the Mini looking as standard as you can. I would be going for moving the suspension in, and have wheels with less offset so that you can run the smallest flares you can (like the ones on my car maybe?).

That way the car is even more surprising that it is a Cosworth 4WD lurking under a Mini body.

I'd go for an old school fortech bodykit, the perfect way to cover those wheels up :

excuse the picture, it was the first one i found

reckon that would look mint with those huge wheels on!
