well weather has stopped me from getting on with the car but i have found something i must buy so i have emailed the company in Australia and looked into a loan so i can buy it and all is moving alone so looks like i will be ditching my longman race head and replacing it with this beauty. its a cast alloy Elder 7 port head and should take me to some where in the region of 140bhp and i may look into turboing it at a later date.

its £1800 delivered with the manifold for twin dcoe40 webers and the rocker cover too. im having to take out a bank loan for it once thats all sorted i should be able to finish off the car. i'll also be getting 3into1 race manifold, twin dcoe40 webers, KAD rear discs, specialist componant billit alloy radius arms, alloy front hubs, beam axle and protec alloy coil overs all round i think then my build will of hit the £10k mark and i'll have to stop spending for a while.

That elder head looks amazing had been looking for them but could never seem to find their site.
Not that i have the money for one anyway just very interested in the different 7 and 8 ports out there.
Is it a bare casing or already fully machined?
And do you need to use longer pushrods with it?
Glad youto hear you're a bit happier with it again is a very nice build.
Can't wait to see the finished article.

Nice plan! Have you seen the Specialist Components ad in the latest Mini Mag though - they are about to launch a billet 7 port head - no info on prices yet though but it may be less than shipping an Elder one from Oz. Maybe PM JohnK for more info???

I think considering what you get £1800 is a great price.
I'm guessing you need a different bonnet to get the carbs under?
With the rest of the parts you're getting this is going to be incredible.
Look forward to seeing it in the flesh some time.

now i have looked at the specialist componants head and i don't know which one to get will have to find out the cost. As with the elder head you can use a normal bonnet but have to cut the slam panel a little bit to clear the the air filter.

just to let you know absultly nothing has happened with the car its driving me mad but as i don't have a car on the road i can't get to my garage about 35miles away to do any work which is really annoying as i want to get the car done now, i have not bought any parts as i am going to finish it to the spec it is and then make a desision on what i want to do, as at the moment i have 3 choices
1-finish the car as is keep it and save money
2-finish the car and then modifiy more once i get past the training stage of my new job
3-sell it and use the money to get the welding done on my 64 countryman and buy a ford pop hotrod
