They have a sunken middle section of the seat, so even with seat runners the seat is only about 5mm from the floor. Lower is always better...

More good news is that I have found a Suspension expert. He is a race car mechanic for hire, and really knows his stuff. He has just modified a friends Ultima for him. He managed to dial out all of this bump steer and modified the front bodywork to increase down force and lower frontal area for less drag. Oh yes and god does it look good now. ( not painted yet )
He is coming round to see the Mini next week, and I am employing him to design and build the front suspension. He has already worked out what Roll Centre height I need and what kingpin angle would be best etc.
This means I will have to buy the Cortina replacement ally uprights, as the westfields version isn’t quite right.

Cost as you see them £450... Then you need to trim them... The wife's said she is going to have a bash at them as the ultima seat I had before looked very simple to trim... If not Auto Interias can trim them in Alacantera for about £500....

From the sounds of things your certainly going all out to make this about the ultimate mini for any situation!! Would love to see it when it's finished :grin:

Thats pretty light compared to alot of other seats! Cobra imolas come in at 6.5kgs each and they're much more cash!
