Oh Yes, my last car did a 11.8, so I would be happy with an 11 but even happier if I got here in the 10's and beat those supercars (Macca F1 and Enzo do 11.1 sec)
Chris Allerson from Z cars does a High 10 in is grass track Busa powered mini, I think it's a 1500, and it has no Turbo.. 220bhp I think.

Pic of Chris in the Grass Track car do a high 10... No that's what I call a Good Launch.

If the NA 1500 does high 10s, you must at least be looking at mid 10s with the extra taction and blown busa. Especially with the launch control.
No traction issues there!

Can you turn the motec unit off tho? because your gonna want to spin the wheels to warm your tyres up before you do a sprint or quater mile.

The Motec runs the engine but yes you can turn off the Traction control with a Dash switch. As far as beating Chris well his car has alot of suspension travel and realy grips well so his 60 foot times will always be better than mine, it's weather I can real him in at the top of the track. We shall see.

Have finished the deseeming now and have started the horid job of grinding down and dressing the welds. The roof is not perfect, so am considering what was surgested to me, as in take a mould of the finished roof and make a composit version of it. Then cut out the steel version and glue in the lighter version. Watch this space...

If your doing that then you might aswell chop two inches out of the pillars and get some smaller glass. Make it look like the roofs that mini sprints used to have.

It would look awesome.
Be a little lighter.
And be a bit more stream lined.

Here are some cad drawings at 10% scale.
Ignore the body lines.
If you cut 2" out the pillars in these places then the roof will be lowered and fit back together exactly.

What do you think?

Don't realy understand those pic's, the wheel base would have to be shortened to make up the difference in lenght when you chop the pillars. If you chopped the body in that place it would not shorten the distance between the pillars it could only make the problem worse ?? :erm::erm: Look at the second pic and you tell me how you shorten the base of the car to match those pillars ?

The red lines are 2inch strips of body and pillars removed. So below the bottom edge of the red line on the body. Nothing is touched. Therefore floor and wheel base stay un-touched. It is a well established conversion (or was in the 60's/70's) called the mini sprint.

The Vitamin racers used it to.

Just thought the roof lowering looked do-able, and when you mentioned having to play with your roof I thought it was some 'good food for thought'.
