i didn't have a engine lift crane or anything, i used a 3ton floor jack and lifted the engine
as high as i could and then i just got a good grip and lifted it over the front of the round nose grill opening
and put it down in front of the car on the floor
the engine is alittle bit on the heavy side but i handled it myself
and later on in the afternoon i went and got some de-greaser and simple green
so i can clean it up
im gonna swap the gearbox on the motor and then paint the engine gloss black
but i gotta get new seals for the lifter covers
im gonna post pictures tomorrow

i pulled the engine out of my mini this morning, took me less then 4hrs by myself

Fair play, I know I would never be able too pull the engine out on my own.
I love this car, and can't believe how little comments there are ont it.

the backside of the engine has been leaking oil out of the covers,
each cover plate, the bolts where alittle on the loose side,
so im gonna get some new seals and stop the oil leak
the bushings for the side plate covers need to be replaced in the differential,
so the inner pot joints have a ton of play inside the diff and
since their is so much play, even with the new seals i put in for that, back in aug or something like that
the pot joints leak oil
ive been told by mra-mini's that they can install new bushings but since the tranny was starting to slip
alittle, theirs no point
so im gonna swap gearboxes
the extra gearbox i have has 28k miles on it
so i still have to order the seals to do the job

so on friday i drove up to norwich and got some sqaure tube, 2meters of 50/50/5 and 2meters of 30/30/3 and paided 20pounds for it
i got a good deal on the steel
and since i was up their
i picked up a few 9in cutting disc for my chop saw and some flapper disc for my grinder
and picked up a few other tools from machine mart
so this afternoon i started to cut up the 50/50/5 square, i cut the steel and tached the front bar and the upper engine support bars together,
tomorrow im gonna cut the front part off of the stock mini subframe and tached in that section i made
i'll post pictures tomorrow or in the next few days

alot has happened in the last few weeks with it
i had to move the mounts on the hood to make it fit the stock mounts on the car
got it lined up and started to do the body work on the hood
and i de-seamed the driverside front of the car, i got half of the passager side done,
what a pain in the butt, not sure when im gonna get around to doing the rear seams

got a fiberglass dash, i got the vent holes cut in it, and i just have it mocked up in place right now
havn't made mounts for it yet
but i did paint it matt black to match the rest of the car
i want to get some fiberglass door cards but i think it would flow good with the dash

and i ordered 2 gallons of roll on bed liner from the states, that should be here within the next 2 weeks or so
i want to pull the front subframe and blast the firewall down to raw metal and then bed line it
i stripped the wiring harness so far out of the car, i still need to pull the wiper system and brake valve set up
will make it ez-er to re-do the firewall and do away with all the holes i don't need anymore
