Decided to just paint the rear nevermind the imperfections, just need to get on with it!

Also wanted to red oxide and underseal the underside today but I ended up finding a hole, so had to spend some time dealing with that.

I've got a few holes like that in my rear arches aswell, you're not alone chap!

I was leaning towards removing the whole arch and replacing it but I might get all the under seal off and see what I have left as replacing the entire arch is alot of work and money in comparison with some patches butt welded in.

Plus, your valance, looks damn good to me!

Thanks guys.

My Dad got me a whole wheel arch for the other side but ended up just patching it, so used the top of that arch as a patch :ermm: Checking out the situation is advised before making any decisions! Patching the ends of the arch is real easy, but near the top it's a little tricky, as the metal bends in two directions it's hard to make a good patch, so it's far easier to use a proper panel. Good luck dude :teehee:

Still having some trouble with my welder at the moment, I might try and get some professional advice on it. With gravity against me it's getting impossible to have it arc on the metal :S

My brother has come over from Wales with a duff car so I may get roped into working on that, plus tomorrow I've been roped into going to the gems and minerals show with the girlfriend, FUN! So possibly no updates for the weekend at least.

Cheers for the interest =)

Thanks man. I'm using a clarke 150 TE I think it is. I've set it up so that it slips with moderate resistance, and the reel doesn't run on. That's all I know how!

Had a chilled out morning and got my laundry done, ran out of socks  This afternoon however I finished off the repair to the wheel arch, didn't go for concours grinding as it's going to be hidden under underseal and seamsealer any way!

Are you using red oxide from a rattle can? I'm jealous of how smooth it is compared to my brush stroke city stuff haha.

Looking good though chap!

Thanks guys, yeah it's simmons red oxide in a spray can >_< I'm sure tins go further but this is infinitely less time consuming. I used to have to brush it on at work we weren't allowed to use spray cans. If you are brushing it on though, just add thinners ^^, brush in straight lines as well and it normally comes out pretty smooth.

Found the cans on ebay by the way. p.s. cheers for the encouragement :teehee:

Wee update on the situation sorry no pics. Bought an underseal gun on ebay (new) but it turned out to be broken on arrival and wouldnt chuck out water never mind underseal, ended up binning it. :)
To my frustration I've brushed on some underseal (after a bit more seamsealer), but it'll need another layer. Considering buying a better quality gun now though rather than brushing it again, as it looks awful.

I've managed to free up some funds by selling some tyres on ebay, I've got about £80 to spend, and need the following to get the mini together:

master cylinder/refurb kit
rear adjustable camber brackets
flasher unit
appropriate brake line flaring tool
new boot seal
new fuel filler grommet (or move neck to inside and smooth)

Think that's probably it, trying to remember if I stole any other bits for the other mini lol.

If you can help me out with a bargain on any of the above please let me know, cheers!
