After more of an arguement than a bartering session I got some bmw boot hinges, they really look the part hopefully they'll do the job Have today off work so I'm going to have a mess about with them.

So today I've started making some brace bars, ignore the top end for now as I've got to integrate hinges it won't be off-the-shelf style.

Top is half way there, you get the idea anyways. Hinge is probs too far forward I might have to make some changes.

Next up I need to cover the gap between the square section and the hinge plate, then sort out some captive nuts for the hinge. Once I'm happy with that I'm going to weld a back onto it to box it in, with two studs which can go through the inner wing.

Started on the other side today, been a bit lazy this weekend! It's really not gonna help with Call of Duty Black Ops arriving with me tomorrow on pre-order...

got the top end up to the same stage as the other side now too



getting some building work done in the diningroom so the organ has to steal the garage, no chance of getting any cozy time with my mini for the next couple of weeks on the plus side there was room for my bike
