£20 a side for pattern parts! =/ They're both buggered, passenger side only had 3 studs when I had a look! If I can do a decent repair I'll be happy, can't do much else on a week night anyways ^^

So my brake flaring tool arrived today but it was shocking quality so it's going back, for reference it's silverline. Think I'll be better off emailing Snapon and wining that I didn't get the right punches (when I bought the my set 2 years ago)

Ye gods Stevie Wonder must have made that. Soooo!! quality control non existent Tick, blagging punters Tick, ripping off punters Tick. Job done. >:P

They should be reported for supplying equipment like that, totally not fit for purpose.

A bit drastic though for the door hinge, would it not have been better to drill out what was remaining of the stud and then fit the new one. Still i like your style as it came out well. :D

The ebay trader reckons it slipped through quality control... oh well.

Re the hinges sonik, I tried my little socks off to drill it, but where its welded on the back would blunt all my bits! This method turned out to be really fast and should be plenty strong enough - time will tell!

Seeing as my mini had lost the lip on the scuttle on both sides, I had no reference as to what it was supposed to look like. So here's my interpretation ^^ Closing panel next.

Nice clean welds. Your making a good job of this. I honestly thought you would have to remove the A panel to do all the work required. But you have just prooved the old saying "there is more than one way to skin a cat" Well done.... Just a thought, but I wonder why people used to skin cats in so many different ways. And I bet the cats were not to chuffed about it either!!!

Looks like you need a new tyre aswell!!

Andy it probably would have made it easier! But I had ok door gaps before, and as I'm going flip front I didn't want to let it move a mm >_<

Sonik I like your closing panel ^^ I've fabricated one but for lack of paint I haven't stuck it on yet. As I'm not going to have solid wings hopefully I'll be able to see it rotting away again before it's too late haha.

Having a surf around the net, I think I'm going to use 3 series bmw boot hinges for my flip front. Need to remember to attend the scrappies at the weekend see if I can find some =)

Just won 4 of the below, 2 with new tyres (cheap brand though by the looks of it *shrug*) £132.

Only thing, I imagine there are a lot of copies - do these look geniune? They were sold as revolutions so I've got comeback if they're not ^^ what do you reckon?

Hi, nice wheels. I think they are revolutions and not copys. They have the correct center cap as well. They look in good condition, And cheep at £132

Thanks Ross, I've done nothing on it this week but I've been busy at work and it's properly cold outside so I can't be bothered! :)

Dad picked up my new wheels (thanks!) and they look pretty sweet, one of them is pretty scuffed but could be re-con'd quite easy.

Question time, I've not had wheels that don't have a taper for the wheel nuts before :S Where can I get suitable wheel nuts and is it going to centre on the hub ok? :/ I'll have to have a mock up at the weekend.

Found my passenger side floor pan is a bit of a state, I planned to do the floors after an MOT any way - hopefully they'll pass!

Today's progress up til now:

New cones arrived today along with the other genuine hinge panel, I think I'll hold onto the hinge panel for now as it may need it in the future. If anyone does need the near side panel let me know though.

Tomorrow I'll chase up the rear hi-los which have taken forever, then at least I can put wheels on if I need it to roll anywhere! Snapon failed to get back to me about my flaring tool. I'm getting such poor service from everyone!
