Put a new coat of paint on the subframe before the bits arrive for it, not alot else done.

Did get some new bits in the post though:

That minilift thing looks cool... but a bit expensive. Why not buy some new hinges and save yourself some time... would that be cheeting..????

£20 a side for pattern parts! =/ They're both buggered, passenger side only had 3 studs when I had a look! If I can do a decent repair I'll be happy, can't do much else on a week night anyways ^^

So my brake flaring tool arrived today but it was shocking quality so it's going back, for reference it's silverline. Think I'll be better off emailing Snapon and wining that I didn't get the right punches (when I bought the my set 2 years ago)

I've been out to the garage and found a solution to my hinges, weld the door on! Just kidding. I'm just going to slot in the top and bottom with my cutting disc, slide a bolt in a fill it. =)

Silverline... Mmmm.. I bought some Silverline glass fibre rods a while back because they were cheep. Ended up buying more expensive ones three weeks later.. On saying that Ive used that type of flareing tool before and it does an ok job. Good luck with the hinges.

I think the type of flaring tool is fine it was just really badly machined =/

Anyways, I'm very excited now - what's the technical term, mayman? clubfair?

You'll be please to hear shearing off the studs in your hinges, no longer results in a £40 fine! :proud:

Go crazy with a grinder

Then place bolt and fill!

Lol, thanks. Finally finished this panel.

I'm starting to remember how to weld minis again ^^

Posted Image

It does want grinding down though.

Now need to make the end of the scuttle look pretty and add the closing panel. =)
