I don't remember saying exactly that. However mixture adjustment may be indicated if the problem persists AFTER you have
1) confirmed ALL your ignition settings are correct,
2) made sure the cooling system is properly filled, and
3) confirmed by an external thermometer that the engine really is running hot.

Regarding point #3, problems with the gauge, sending unit, an/or voltage stabilizer can all make the temperature appear hot when there is no real problem.

bring it round and we'll get it sorted, Also i thought we sorted out that rattling tappets?, oh well more wheel pushing for you them :thumbsup:

How quick are the clearances going out of adjustment ? Could well be a worn rocker shaft, do the tappets then spin the engine over and check them again. If there all out, the rocker shaft is worn and needs replacing.
